So, what is the accusation in the indictment?

Yeah, so these charges are coming from an event that happened back in 1996, um, when he was the defense minister for Cuba.

Uh, basically, two unarmed civilian planes that were delivering humanitarian aid that came from Miami were gunned down over Cuba.

Um, so him, along with five others, have been indicted on federal murder, uh, murder charges, conspiracy to kill US nationals, and destruction of an aircla- aircraft, because three of the people that were on board those aircrafts were US citizens.

You know, are they worried in Key West that they might bomb them with drones?

Yeah, so I think the, the implication is that Cuba has been trying to get their hands, and maybe already has, on attack drones similar to what Iran's used.

And, um, basically, there, there is no intelligence that's made, made public that this was a threat being made, but when Axios, who put out the initial report, reached out to the Cuban Embassy for comment, they didn't respond, but they did put on their Twitter page or their X page that they have a right to themself, like, for self-defense, to defend themself.

And I think with the escalating tensions and, you know, with what just happened yesterday with the indictment of Castro, I don't think that it's a far-fetched idea to beYou know, to keep the eyes on, on-

After we filed, the university pretty quickly after the fact filed a motion to dismiss, which she had anticipated.

Sheila and her team, this was in 2021, in October, had submitted aMotion to strike the dismissal, and that was as far as the case went.

May of 2022, she said, "As you know, we have been in a holding pattern for months because of the court's rules against proceeding with discovery while a motion to dismiss is pending.

I've been watching with interest, as you know I have, the protests and escalating outcry from UCO students.

Our firm has also filed another Title IX case on behalf of a current UCO student arising out of a sexual assault.

What has the last few years looked like for you?

Second semester of my senior year, we traveled again.

We went to KCACTF in Texas.

I was so ready to graduate.

I was over being in school there.

KCACTF should have been the most exciting trip for me because it was my last one.

All of my peers were partying and hanging out, and I chose to stay in our hotel room by myself.

December, right before winter break, Cato and I were still seeing each other often, whenever we could find time to see one another.

We were still texting all the time.

We were still in an active relationship.

I received a call from a friend in the department who was really good friends with Morgan, and he told me that Morgan was filing a Title IX against Cato and that I was named in some capacity.

I denied everything, of course, and said that we have no involvement.

He was like, "Okay.

But I do often think about how things could have been

Did you ever talk with Cato about it?

No.

He did something that he did with a lot of my peers, which was talk about how crazy she was.

Cato would, of course, never acknowledge it.

I just kind of assumed they were dating.

They were together, and now they're not, and everything is fine, and they're a couple of adults, and she's going to graduate.

My junior year, he was directing what's called a main stage show, which is the biggest show of the year because it's in the university's main theater.

Was there times where you felt like it was consensual and then times you felt like it was coerced?

For those who are not familiar, could you explain a little bit more about the Meisner technique?

Yeah.

I think it's really important to the story, and I think it is a really big piece in the way that he was able to groom me specifically.

Meisner is built on repetition and vulnerability.

He would always say, like, "You're living truthfully in imaginary circumstances," which is the whole idea of Meisner.

He took us through all of these training techniques that he had just learned.

It was, like, pretty fresh on the brain for him, I suppose.

She tells me about meeting up with the judge.

We went to a room adjacent to the judge's office.

The judge was wearing a kind of, a pink sweater with daisies on and jeans.

I, I really liked the judge.

I felt that it's in good hands, so that felt like a huge relief, and gratitude that the French authorities cared enough to do this, and that they listened to us, and that they looked at the facts, and that they cared enough about us and about other women.

She said kind of almost from the beginning, "I'm not going to, you know, make you go through any specific questions around GB," and it was a, a relief 'cause that's one of the most difficult parts to retell.

She was assessing my, you know, the, the long-lasting impact on my life.

There's still a lot about her experiences she wants to explain to Penny.

Eventually, Miranda can take no more, so she tells the other passenger her whole story.

And she had the strongest reaction to it of anyone still in the organization I'd told up until that point, the most humane and compassionate reaction.

She was genuinely shocked and upset, and she said almost straight away, "I, I want to help.

I feel that I need to do something about this." I felt this, like, sense of solidarity from her that I hadn't felt from anyone else still in the organization up until that point.

And a few weeks later, she told me that she'd been talking to a few of her friends and she was going to organize a meeting in Hyde Park, and if I wanted, she could tell my story secondhand, or if I wanted, I could go there and tell it firsthand to still current students.

[crowd chatter] There was a group of, I don't know, about seven or eight people when I arrived, and then more people came.

Miranda has heard this recording of herself.

One of the things that always makes me cringe when I listen back to myself is the intonation and the accent, and I can hear it there, how I sounded like the teacher sound and how I sounded like this kind of prototype, this cult personality kind of robotic prototype.
