And so would you mind giving us just kind of like an overview, Mike, about, you know, generally, you know, the water from central comes from reservoirs X, Y, and Z and CWP is different in these respects and give us a little bit of its history just to kind of place, do some table setting for the broader conversation.
8:01
Sure.
8:02
Yeah, like you mentioned, a lot of the public will consider Central Utah Water Conservancy District and use misnomer and call us the CUP because that is so much what is public facing and what a lot of the general public see and understand us to be.
8:21
And there is some truth to that in that the district was created in 1964. as a result of the Central Utah project to be the local sponsoring entity and repayment entity to the federal government for their investment with the Central Utah project.
8:37
And so while we were created to sponsor and operate that project, We've spread our wings in many areas outside of that.
8:47
And so while Central Utah Project is a core aspect and later the Central Utah Project Completion Act are a core component of the district, we, as early as the 1970s, branched out to non-federal aspects of water development, first with some of the treatment facilities that are located in Bluffdale.
9:10
So the Bluffdale or Jordan Valley Water Treatment Plant is a facility that Central Utah Water constructed in order to help market and meet the demand for the federal water that was developed as of the Central Utah project in the Salt Lake Valley.

to really start having, if we're going to value water and kind of value our water infrastructure and like safe, reliable water service, it's important to understand what that really costs.
