My grandfather was drafted into the Marines, and so that kind of put an end to that.

So he's really the one for me, um, in terms of, of singing and songwriting, he was the one who planted that seed pretty early on.

What did you go to college for? Like, do you did you go into that field of whatever you were studying when you were at Tennessee or did you do something completely off the rails different?

Actually, somebody asked that question earlier today about our other Odyssey sports stations, because obviously we have more sports stations than any other company in America.

And Some of them do one-day radiothons, or they do special on-site events or whatever.

And they're all great, and they all benefit.

They all help out fantastic causes.

But there really is nothing like this.

What I'm interested in Mike's perspective on, you've been in so many different radio cities.

You've been a radio lifer, right? And even it's in your family going back.

Is there anything that compares across the country to this event? It's just something unique.

Yeah, it, it really is.

Like, how are you doing?

Uh, so no, I don't come from this at all.

My, my, my dad was a trucker.

Um, my, my mother drove a school bus, and I grew up in a, a little ranch house in Long Island in a, in a s- suburb, suburb in the '80s.

Um, so I didn't have a lot of contact with rural life.

It wasn't actually until my, like, late 20s.

Um, I had had some experiences.

Um, uh, I s- did a lot of research into his past.

Found out he had, like, three patents.

Found out, I talked to colleagues, did all these things, that, um, he had left this small company in Hagerstown and taken this huge job to run everything, you know, all the c- all the chemistry, everything, all the lab work for a new aluminum plant that was opening in Frederick, which is half hour away.

Um, so he had a congenital growth on his back, unu- like, highly atypical.

Never, never been removed.

this season I've been enjoying a lot more than season one, and I think it's just because there's not, like, a ton of rewrites that they had to do for, [laughs] for this show, uh, in season two.

Um, I appreciate that we're able to tell, like, a, a very s- lower stakes story in the MCU.

Again, we're focusing just on Hell's Kitchen, on Fisk as mayor.

Um, and I, I do find it interesting that Matt and Fisk kind of peaked as far as, like, their character growth and their character arcs, so we have to find new ways to challenge them.

I'd argue that Matt really hasn't changed since Daredevil season three on Netflix.
