... where, um, '84 got really bad and then I s- made a couple attempts into hospital.

Um, my m- mother worked at Starchrist as, in some sort of clerical, so she had insurance and was able to get me into, like, a, you know, h- a proper 30-day hospital.

But, you know, it's so weird how, um, you know, you don't know if you're, you think you're ready, but, you know, part of me was just like, "Uh, well, I'll give up heroin, but I'm not gonna give up everything else-"

Sure.

The other guys were just kinda like, "Yeah, I'm just here because I, I'm getting out of a court case," or, "I'm here because my wife's on me," or, and then, "I'm not gonna do this shit," you know? So but it just took a couple more times of going out there, couple more overdoses, couple more, you know, uh, bad things to where I got willing and, uh, ended up in that men's detox.

And, and then, I mean, I had a manager still, and we still kinda had a band.

We had a new drummer and, uh, we did a show at 30 Days Sober.

Yeah.

And, you know, we're in the first unit.

And when you go into a tenant occupied bill rent place, you can cut the tension with a knife.

Yeah.

And so there's a Christmas tree and I just had a nice Christmas tree.

And the guy started telling me this story and he starts crying about, I haven't had a Christmas tree in 26 years.

I know because last time I had a Christmas tree was last time I saw my daughter, which when I was, which was when I was sober.

And I mean, and this is a question that probably anybody listening can get wisdom from, but choosing your staff, like how did you, you've told me about two of them and how you met them, but like, what are some things that you've done right? And maybe some past things you've learned from when

Yeah.

Wow.

That's funny, because, okay, so there's two songs on this record that came from before or right around the White Light, White Heat demos.

And I won't tell you what the other one is, but No Way Out was one of them.

And I als- I had a chorus, but no lyrics for that, so it didn't make it on White Light.

And, uh, and, um, I think we changed the key.

I just felt like it, it, uh, it had the right groove and right vibe and attitude for this song, and, you know, it's just like the song's just sitting around in a, on a, on, on a cassette, and it's, it's a shame.

That's a pretty cool triple bill, I think.
