And, you know, how has that trust developed?

Um, it literally is having people's lives in your hand.

So the LSO kind of has the last word on who, who traps aboard the ship.

You know, of course the captain of the air boss can hit the, you know, hit the foul deck or the wave off, but the LSO has to wave, has to wave them off.

And so you are responsible for the safe recovery of all airplanes and all conditions aboard the ship when you are the air wing LSO.

So the senior guy, um, And so when I first started flying in VF-51, actually when I was first a student, I got attracted to being a landing signal officer and being out on the deck there.

And so I did that while I was learning how to fly at the same time I learned how to be an LSO.

And then how, like, what does leadership even mean when you're dealing with, with AI mostly?

I don't know.

No, it is a calling, Jackson, and I call it a North Star.

And so my wish for everybody is that somewhere early in their life's journey, something impacts them like that right there, that.

I can see it.

I want to do that.

That's what I want to do.

That's what happened to me in 1974.

members of the military and you know the officer obviously you started in the officer ranking I told you like I work in in higher education so I go on to a lot of military bases so of course when trying to figure out stuff you know the whole joke of you know no I'm not an officer I work for a living that kind of thing so what what uh what what is what are those two because there's two totally different tracks that I don't think people really realize it when it comes to the military

Did you look at it any differently as far as your responsibility?

Yeah.

And I'll remind your listenership, I was never a CAG.

I was the CEO of a carrier, a CEO of a ship before that.

But, you know, I've thought about this.
