So how about give me a couple of players that you think will be key to the series? Yeah.
28:26
So I highlighted Chase DeLauder at the front, and I think he's going to be very important, provided that you anticipate his availability and all of that.
28:37
No one needs to be told Jose Ramirez is important to this team.
28:41
I can't help but feel like the August into September that we saw from Travis Bazzana is something that's very important, and I think the quality of his at-bats – are something that I'm looking forward to seeing because that's so important in postseason play.
28:58
It's just to see as many pitches as possible and hang in.
29:02
And if there's one thing that the guy does very well, it's hang in there and be just a pain for opposing pitchers to put away.
29:10
Even though he'll strike out a fair bit, he won't chase.

34:31
But I'm very appreciative of them giving us another great ride to a division title and giving us some reason to hope that maybe we could get a nice playoff run.
2:32
It's a conversation about music, friendship, creativity, and the stories that stay with us across generations.
2:42
I hope you enjoy.
2:43
When I did, when we started to do the video, we released, when we released We Were Golden, because again, that was just a tribute.
2:52
I just wanted to send it.
2:53
I knew Brian Wilson didn't have any more years to live.
2:56
And I wanted to just send it to him and say thanks.
3:00
And here, this is just a tribute, okay? I'm not commercial.

10 MINS LATER

13:33
What do you wish young people understood about failure and change?
7:27
So you guys want to talk about this trade a little bit?
7:30
I'll start on this one because I got a little bit of experience with the guy that they brought that they traded to get Joe Adele.
7:38
I think that everyone understands that the lineup right now against left-handed pitching is more than a little embarrassing and they needed to make substantial and consequential improvements.
7:50
And most folks would also acknowledge that Joe Adele, if he's going to excel at a particular point in the offensive game is a against left-handed pitching.
7:59
And we'll see how sustainable that is.
8:01
If you strictly platoon him, I don't think necessarily that the angels were doing that.
8:07
I don't think they really could afford to do that.

12 MINS LATER

20:15
This is a move that just completely solidifies this as possibly the best one through five outside of the Yankees in the American League.
16:02
But with the school, you're going to see a lot of new faces.
16:06
Yeah.
16:06
And so I think that that's because it is kind of an ever-changing atmosphere with new staff.
16:13
Actually, at St. Teresa's last year, we were blessed to have no new faculty.
16:19
All of our faculty came back last year.
16:22
We have a few new faculty this year, which is a good thing and a blessing to welcome these new staff members into our building.
16:30
But also the students that we're preparing to welcome in too, it's you know, kind of trying to seek them out, whether it's being a presence in the car line, whether one thing that I like to do is, you know, going into school at least once a week.
19:20
What are some of the things that have maybe surprised you the last couple of years? And maybe as you begin this third year as the parochial vicar there, what are some of the things working with the school that has surprised you?
2:26
But with the school, you're going to see a lot of new faces.
2:30
Yeah, and so I think that that's because it is kind of an ever-changing atmosphere with new staff.
2:38

3:09
I'm not great at that, but it's my goal.
5:44
And what are some of the things that have maybe surprised you the last couple of years? And maybe as you begin this third year as the parochial vicar there, what are some of the things working with the school that has surprised you?
6:49
... i- it's, it's great to have you as well, and what do we have to look forward to in th- this particular gospel? Because maybe, uh, just a little bit of a warning, this is one of those gospel passages you wanna stick around to the end, 'cause, uh, otherwise you might get the wrong idea, right?
7:05
E- exactly, and so, 'cause in this weekend's gospel, we have the healing of the daughter of a Canaanite woman, and, you know, Canaanites are, are Gentiles.
7:17
They're not followers of, of the Jewish way, and so oftentimes, you know, as the disciples and apostles are accompanying Jesus, uh, they can try to send them away, and that's exactly what happens in, in today's gospel because, uh, it says in, in, "Jesus's disciples c- came and asked him, 'Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.'" And Jesus kind of replies in a way that seems like, yeah, he agrees with them, because he says, "I was sent only to l- to the lost sheep of the House of Israel," but that doesn't stop her.
7:53
She keeps coming and coming, and tries to, um, you know, persuade Jesus to, to truly do this miracle.
8:04
And at the very end, Jesus, after she says, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters," Jesus replies saying, "O woman, great is your faith.
8:17
Let it be done for you as you wish," and that woman's daughter was then healed.
8:23
I think it's a great example for us to, to not give up, to truly keep coming before the Lord.
10:09
Father Mike Mahoney, would you leave us with a blessing as we, again, kind of wrap up this conversation, helping us prepare for this upcoming, upcoming Sunday's gospel?

This is a move that just completely solidifies this as possibly the best one through five outside of the Yankees in the American League.
0:17
Father, would you mind giving us this gospel reflection so we can have something to reflect on these next few days before Sunday Mass? Yes.
0:26
Yeah, absolutely, and thanks for having me.
0:28
Yeah, so after a couple weeks of hearing parables, particularly around agriculture, we have the parable of the soil, we have the parable of the sower, and all of a sudden we kind of end those parables and we enter into a miracle.
0:46
And the miracle that we have this week is the multiplication of the loaves.
0:51
And it's something that I think is really profound.
0:57
Because it shows us where we get satisfied.
1:01
Because Jesus begins hearing of the death of John the Baptist, and he goes to this very place to try to kind of be by himself.
4:41
And could you close us out with a blessing?
5:40
Uh, just what's your take on, on where we are now, where we've been since February, and where you think we're gonna go going forward with this mess?
5:49
Ultimately, the, the decision to go against Iran militarily the way they did was misguided, and I think, uh, war planners didn't spend enough time briefing, uh, the president and his team and, and possibly the defense secretary.
6:01
I refuse to call him secretary of war, 'cause Congress hasn't changed that name, so he's the defense secretary until otherwise.
6:08
Um, they didn't take into account that- ... at what everybody had studied for decades, and that was Iran would lash out at regional partners and lash out at American assets in the region.
6:18
Um, all they have done now is they've made a, a more difficult situation more complex.
6:25
We've always known Iran was a large state sponsor of terrorism.
6:28
There's no question there.

11 MINS LATER

17:52
Just what's your thought? Am I overstating it when I say that I think that Trump are, is a fascist and, and ICE is his gestapo? [laughs]
3:47
I guess, Mike, it makes the most sense to ask what brought on this idea?
3:54
Um, honestly, Eugene came over probably few weeks ago and mentioned there's, there's gonna be a strong tournament in Charlotte, and we just started talking whether or not he was gonna play and everything, and he mentioned there's, there's like a, yeah, boatload of, boatload of grandmasters, a lot of the world's best.
4:11
And then, like, out of nowhere, I just said, "Well, what's the criteria? Like, is it open or can anyone, anyone enter it?" He said, "I think you just ha- you have to be 2200 and above." And I'm like, "Oh, yeah, well, I haven't played in a long time, but, um," and my rating, I think, just, it fell below, what, 10 years ago or so.
4:27
And then I was like, "Wait a minute." I said, "What about my blitz rating?" I, I, I thought...
4:30
I couldn't remember if it was provisional or not, but it turns out it's, uh, actual blitz rating.
4:35
I think it was 25 games I think I played, and it's like, it's 2255 or somewhere along that.
4:40
And he goes, "Let me email the director." He emails the guy, he's like, "Dude, I think you can get in." So I was like, "Ah, screw it." Like, uh, the way I think of it is, like, if you, if you liked golf, you know, and, and you were like, "Dude, Tiger Woods is gonna be in it," like, it would be silly to not do it.

33 MINS LATER

38:17
Um, but i- is it game review? Is it playing a ton? Was it a certain book or YouTube channel? Like, w- what do you think, uh, helped you the most along the way?
