ahead of you.
11:02
Exactly.
11:03
Or why are you behaving like this? You should be better than this.
11:07
I just sat with him and held him down.
11:11
and talk to him about how it made perfect sense that he was devastated, that he felt that way.
11:19
And in his sobs, he would say things like, why can't I just grow up? Why do I have to cry? Dad's gonna be so disappointed in me.
11:27
And I just reminded him that it was okay to be where he was at.

Michelle says there's another habit that's essential when it comes to emotional resilience, and she calls it the daily ground, or G-R-O-U-N-D.
9:20
Mm-hmm.
9:20
And then being able to answer it, being able to learn how to reestablish that sense of safety so then your higher level of thinking comes back on.
9:28
Because when you are activated, your n- when your nervous system is activated, then that, just like you were saying earlier, that higher level of thinking goes offline or becomes limited in access.
9:41
And so we can't, we can't choose thoughts that are gonna serve us or help us be more intentional.
9:47
So it begins with that grounding, that establishing of safety, and then when we are able to access our higher level of thinking, it's what, what thoughts am I choosing? What am I choosing to believe that's showing up in my life? Because what we think, we manifest in our results and what we create.
10:07
So being able to, to answer the thoughts that naturally come to our brains, w- you know, whether it's doubt or worry or fear, having the tools to be able to answer that and then decide, "Okay, this is what I want.
10:23
This is how I wanna show up.

Oh
3:16
Hm.
3:16
Uh, had a photography business, and I've had a home business, um, throughout the years, and I remember this one particular business that I was running.
3:26
It was a- from home, but also online, and I was starting to recognize the good that I could put in the world, and the women's lives I could impact, the way in which I could bless my family.
3:38
But I truly did feel that tension between, is this okay? Am I gonna derail my motherhood? Am I going to, you know, do something that's gonna harm my kids or, you know, just affect my family for ill? And it really held me back for a long time, and it wasn't until I had this recognition through being coached myself that I felt that sense of excitement for, that desire, that gift I wanted to put in the world.
4:11
If I worked towards that, it would make me a better person, which in turn would make me a better mother.
4:19
And that kinda gave me permission to, to move forward in some of the interests that I had.
4:24
And I really have learned that, um, you know, it, it requires something of us when we do some of these things, and it's okay if there's that tension.
