Standing in for those people who can't stand in for themselves.

We do a lot of services for, um, people who are, have disabilities, for seniors, like I said, for veterans, veterans who come back and, you know, have a multitude of issues.

And everybody doesn't always realize that there's an additional layer of, um, circumstances that they face in terms of trying to get their lives back on track, and just to move forward and be stable in the community.

So I think the biggest issue, the most important issue right now, is a lot of housing.

It's a lot of housing stability work and things that go into that.

And with our veterans work, we don't just do housing.

And so if people wanna attend this event, are tickets still available?

Can we first just talk about the severity of the impact? I mean, this sounds like especially for this child and maybe others, life and death.

Thanks for having me.

Yes, this program is set up for children that have really critical health care needs and have no other way to access care.

So the doctors that brought the case lay out in great detail what that means.

One child has leukemia and is getting chemotherapy.

One child is on a feeding tube.

One child requires oxygen.

What does this mean for the doctors and the local health departments? Because as I understand it, the onus is on them to then report these these families.

Michelle, are you already hearing about families who are afraid of being deported un-enrolling in the program? And do you have examples of pediatric patients that may already be losing access to critical care?

Absolutely.

We have been talking to families for the last two weeks, families who are on the road to citizenship, who have done everything, followed every rule, and, um, received this letter and are scared.

You know, that we've created an environment in this country, and particularly in this state, that is terrifying for, for people.

Um, and so a client that we talked to yesterday has already dis-enrolled, and her 10-year-old with severe spina bifida who needs surgery in order to not be in pain, uh, they had to cancel the surgery.

The, the provider canceled the surgery, so he is now in, um, unnecessary pain.

And I can't really imagine as a mother watching your child suffer, um, watching your child suffer not because of a serious illness that they're born with, but because th- the elected officials in your state want to have a, a political issue that they can run on.

What is your organization doing right now to help these families?
