They're seen as perhaps what you can get from them, what they can do for you, the role they fulfill or something like that, rather than this deeper sense of what it is to recognize the humanity of a person.

Yes.

Essentially, the relational quality is absent there.

There's no curiosity about the interior of the other person, what makes them tick, what the very things that include relationship are usually absent.

And sometimes those deteriorate slowly over relationships that don't have any kind of even deceptive sexuality.

They just relationships in general can, that can happen.

And then the deceptive sexuality component really highlights it differently.
