So Michelle, why don't great campaigns follow that fixed script? And how can nonprofits use a proven framework while still making smart questions or rather smart adjustments along the way?
3:25
Let me just start with sort of confirming the fixed script so we're all on the same page.
3:31
When we think about campaigns, I would say very simply, campaigns succeed because of intention, discipline, focus, and strategy.
3:41
All of us know that proper planning and a clear roadmap to our ultimate goal really inspires the confidence of any successful campaign.
3:51
And confidence ultimately wins the race.
3:55
So if we start with objectives and a vision that really fuels the strategic plan of an organization, it gives people confidence that you're going to get to the end goal.
4:06
So campaign strategy is built around all of those questions that really make a difference in terms of does this make sense? Is the budget transparent and clear? Do we have the right people involved? Have we engaged and thanked our friends and donors along the way to make sure that they're ready to support what we're doing at the highest level? Do we have the internal support and systems in place to really manage the fundraising? So that's a fixed script, right? And we do everything that we can to make sure all of that is sort of functioning at the A level.

What does a successful pivot actually look like in practice and how do the most resilient organizations communicate a shift in strategy to their donors without losing momentum or trust?
