And then it would matter when they met.
5:13
Because I actually have my own opinion on whether he was involved in the demise of his children based on a couple of things.
5:23
if you want to hear my two cents on it, there was a 911 recording.
5:29
Yes.
5:30
Okay.
5:30
The 911 recording was heard in the courtroom and heard by the jury.
5:34
That 911 recording was made by Patrick.

14:36
It is back to the microwave and oven.
5:24
in, but eventually you're going to have to dive
5:27
in.
5:27
And I tell my kids that all the time.
5:29
And I don't think I really fully embraced that until I was older.
5:33
I would say in my forties, when I hit about 45, it's kind of when the switch flipped where I said, no, no more.
5:40
But that's kind of where I got to, to talk to you today, which is that you've got to pivot in life.
5:45
And while you start your career when you're younger, I mean, What they say is your career will change or evolve at least three different times during the lifetime of your career.
8:16
Would you really?
14:50
hey, sweetheart, go out with your
14:52
friends.
14:53
Have a great time.
14:54
You've been working your butt off.
14:55
You really, really, really deserve some time and some fun.
14:58
Go have fun.
14:59
Right.

21 MINS LATER

35:50
Well, and the
23:53
And most of us are not ready for that job, but you have that job now.
23:57
Yeah, I can't tell you how often you hear the, well, why don't you just leave? It is to the average person who has not gone through that type of relationship, they don't understand that that's not okay.
24:14
Now, here's why.
24:16
Because they're operating out of a place, well, at least these are my two cents.
24:20
is they're operating out of a place of applying reason to a situation that is not rational or reasonable.
24:28
And so they're applying a normal brain to say, well, the fix is just leave.
24:34
And while yes, that sounds like, okay, that'll fix it.

17 MINS LATER

41:37
But it's a hassle, but at least you can communicate with people and that person is off your back for a while while you're making plans or moving across the country.
4:04
So in the comments, a lot were like, "Mm, this sound, this sounds like this guy is just trying to get custody so that he can get more s- child support since she is the bigger star."
4:15
Yeah, but she-- he already gets eight thousand a month in child support, plus he gets a percentage of her earnings that I think she makes over two million dollars based annually based on their custody agreement.
4:26
So I don't know how much more money he's gonna get.
4:29
Now, what, what I see is, 'cause I've raised three boys, and then I used to be a CPS judge, and so I know, you know, abuse is something we've dealt with all along.
4:38
But, uh, in Texas at least, we're allowed reasonable discipline of your child.
4:42
And so the question is, what is reasonable discipline given the circumstances? Now, we also know we have a 13-year-old boy, and anyone that has raised boys knows at some point when they hit puberty, they become a-holes.
4:56
And so there may be some, some of that to me may be that she may have had to discipline him, and she may have gotten out of control with the discipline, but that may have been circumstantial.

56 MINS LATER

61:00
... you know, you become whoever your boyfriend is and, you know, um-
8:12
Because I hear a lot of crazy breakups and divorces, and the kids may even have negative feelings towards their dad, but they still, like... want to spend time with their dad or they go there on the weekends or whatever, but to completely get rid of the last name, a lot of people would say, well, he must have done something terrible then if that's the case.
8:32
You know, I agree with you that most people will say that.
8:35
Here's the distinction, which I think is actually different.
8:41
Especially for the children that were raised since babies, right? One, there's a biological attachment, and I understand that some of the children they've adopted, right? But he was there from the get-go with a lot of those kids, I think, except with Pax.
8:54
Pax she had for a fair amount of time before she and Brad got together, right? Or not, was it Maddox? Whoever the oldest child is, was the one that I think she had for a period of time before Brad ever came into the picture with her.
9:11
And you look at the studies, even abused children still love their parents.
9:17
And even if their parents are the abusers, and that's because of the attachment that children have that they get with those parents at a very young age.
11:51
Yeah.
2:47
Mm-hmm.
2:47
That's usually everyone's contact.
2:49
If you're in the criminal justice system, that's a whole other s- issue.
2:52
But as a general rule, the most of the public, it's divorce and it's traffic tickets.
2:56
Um, so I try to explain it and keep it, like, basic, like, "Here's what you need to know." But out of being a, one, a product of divorce, being divorced myself, being on the bench practicing family law, I've been a stepmom.
3:09
I've l- literally lived all aspects of family law.
3:12
Uh, just to briefly touch on my childhood, my dad was a very successful surgeon, but also a very high-level functioning alcoholic.

57 MINS LATER

60:23
Yeah
18:43
And because being a public person and the image and everything that everyone would know looks and you want to just keep going, well, maybe I can fix this.
18:52
Well, and what you find, and that's why I think what he did when he was being recorded was so interesting, is because typically abusers try and keep their stuff behind closed doors.
19:03
And if he was willing to do that, just that.
19:06
What was the recording that they had? Well, no, the one that you talked about when he was miked up and talked about.
19:12
Okay, sorry.
19:13
Yeah.
19:14
No, no. Yeah.

26 MINS LATER

45:23
Can you speak a little more on that?
