I think sometimes people think of philanthropists, and especially Donna and Donald Baumgartner, who have been so involved in so many high-profile organizations, including Milwaukee Film, but in such a significant way, and using their... means to truly support so many key organizations in our creative culture here but didn't just write a check and uh hope that people would say thank you like wrote the check and then also said well we see this vision we want to have these special events or we want to have this building this architecture and then manage to actively do it and do it with a smile and do it by gaining friends and support for their visionary projects instead of saying you do

And so I think as always, whenever one approached him about investing or considering investing, he was thinking, how will you make that work? How will you capitalize on that? How will it make a difference? He wasn't just giving you money.
4:19
And one thing I will say that Up until naming the Baumgartner Center for Dance, he was not interested in having his name on things.
4:27
He didn't feel that was important.
4:29
And it took quite a lot of persuasion to say, now is the time, Donald.

And I think when you say raising of standards, when you talk about Donald Baumgartner, and those are the examples I was thinking of as well, the Milwaukee Art Museum with the Calatrava and the Burke Breeze de Soleil wings now that are truly a part of our city skyline, that it seems like Donald and Donna see Milwaukee as world-class and won't let anybody else see our creative community here anything less than world-class.

And so I just wonder if we look at the processes and people side of the equation, are there any sort of key developments that jump out that you can share with the listeners that you've seen over the years changing and trending?
12:52
Yeah, absolutely.
12:56
Thinking about, you know, go back.
12:59
I graduated in 2020 or 2001, so 25 years ago.
13:03
So that's that's the line in the sand that I'll go off of.
13:06
And I'll I'll tell you what the world looked like then.
13:10
But then I'll tell you what I see happening over that timeframe.

But if you had your choice, if you could pick the tools in your tool belt, what applications or systems or tools would you pick? In terms of what? In terms of scheduling or managing projects or managing delay, anything in that space.
