So I'm forever indebted to the Swanson when the opportunity to come to be a part of the board and for a person that had bled and cried and did all these things as a player for the football club that I love to then have an impact as a board member was something that I wasn't too sure about at the start but then who better to be there for someone that cares about the place as much as I do.

So I just thought that was a pretty natural fit I've learnt so much, I've also worked really hard.

And then obviously the GO Foundation, we run that out of the football club as well with Adam Goodes and myself.

That's probably the best thing I'll do, Jono.

Football was amazing, the board membership's amazing.

But being part of a foundation and a co-founder of the foundation where we put, I think we have roughly 700 students, boys and girls in schools.

Can you tell us a little bit more about the

Speak to sort of the appeal of the Catholic Church in this moment.

I think what Felix was saying is what I'm hearing from folks I talk to who are either reengaging their Catholic faith or joining the church, this sense that we're at a point in human history where we are struggling to understand what it means to be a human being today.

So we do have J.D. Vance's book coming out tomorrow.

He talks about his conversion to Catholicism and sort of There's some questions around politics about that, but an even more well-known Catholic American, Pope Leo, is engaging in precisely that conversation.

He just released a few weeks ago, we covered at National Catholic Reporter, his first encyclical or papal teaching, a 200-page document looking at what artificial intelligence means for human beings.

And much of his argument is precisely that, that we need to recover what it means to be a human being.

And for Pope Leo, for people of different religious traditions or of a general faith spirituality, there's this sense that we have become too detached from the spiritual side of what it means to be a person.

I think we lost Chris there, but Mike, do you want to take that?

In what ways do you see the, the language of faith coming up in the administration's political rhetoric? A- and tell us what the pope's understanding of this doctrine really is.

It's been a pretty remarkable exchange to see the White House really relying on language of faith.

This is, of course, an administration that has leaned heavily into its core support, which includes many evangelical Christians and conservative Catholics, and they've been making the case that the invasion of Iran has been a morally just war, which I think they've been so strong on that because there's been a pretty broad coalition, uh, in the United States of, uh, bishops and other church leaders, both conservative and more, uh, moderate to liberal, who have said that, "No, this is not a morally just war." Uh, and on top of that, you have a pope, uh, Pope Leo, who's an Augustinian.

That means he's part of a religious order that was, traces its roots back to St. Augustine, who's the founder of the just war theory.

So you have this strong, uh, sense from Catholic leaders both here in the US and in Rome that this was not a morally just war, that there was no imminent threat to the United States from Iran, and you have the White House pushing back and saying, "Yes, it is." You have really strong religious imagery being used by the president, by the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.

So there's this religious dynamic to this war that I think makes, uh, many faith leaders, many Catholic leaders here in the US pretty, uh, uneasy.

They don't want this, uh, idea of a holy war to take root.

Do you think this sort of war of words, um, between the pope and the president i- is over?
