Yeah
35:47
...
35:47
I stepped down.
35:48
Um, uh, I, I'm a big...
35:52
So hang with this.
35:53
Um, I wanna be, uh, very careful not to, to revisit something that's quite recent, um, in the wrong way.

As the new leader in government, you're obviously part of the previous cabinet.

But there have been some untidy examples where people have not quite nailed that balance.
9:52
Has something changed in the last 10 or so over a period of time in which what a government used to be able to do in terms of, you know, introducing new laws, implementing your policies that you took to the election, rolling them out, communicating that, and... enabling those policies to be bedded into the community and for the community to feel a sense of change and improving their lives, and then therefore when you go back to them four years later that you're rewarded, has the role of governing and how you govern and how you communicate what you do, has that changed at all? So therefore it's become a far more difficult proposition now as a government or has the government just not been very good at what you normally should do? Michael, what are your thoughts on that? Do you think government's changed in the last two or three cycles? I think tools have changed,
10:55
right? But the core of government hasn't, which is I've got to do something to deliver.
11:00
You know, I have a policy agenda.
11:01
I want to put it in place.
11:03
The basics of government are no different.
11:06
But the tools of how you communicate, the tools of lots of things have changed over the years.
11:10
It's just fair enough.
