So without further ado, I will turn things over to Michael for this month's presentation.
1:15
Hey, everybody.
1:16
Well, welcome to the Apps and Taps.
1:19
We're going to start the series with a deep dive into settings, and we'll probably do a couple of lectures on this, because there's a lot here.
1:28
This is the center of how your iPhone behaves.
1:33
These devices are built to be useful to everyone.
1:37
And the only way they can do that is to let you customize a lot of how it behaves.

But now I'm going to turn everything over to Michael to do his presentation.
1:15
Hey, everyone.
1:16
So welcome to a new series I've thought of calling Apps and Taps.
1:22
Couldn't think of anything more sort of pithy and piquant.
1:28
And basically what this is, is for people who want to learn more, you know, in the Unseen Touchscreen course, which I'm not assuming everyone has gone through, but a lot of us have, Over the past three years, my objective was to really familiarize you with the kinds of things that were possible, touch on all the different kinds of things your iPhone could do, and kind of give you a broad overview so that you could then take that and really get the most out of your iPhone and explore for yourselves the areas that interested you.
2:05
So basically, this picks up where that leaves off in some sense, because what we're doing now is this is going to be more about deeper explorations, like rather than a broader overview, like when we went through sections of.
2:20
And I went through all the different kinds of accessible games and gave examples.

presumably 15 Pro, then 16, not the E, but the 16 Basic and the 16 Pro, 17 Basic, 17 Pro, and the 18s should all have it then.

This has been a long, uh, journey and a wonderful journey, so welcome back to Michael.
1:31
Well, hello, everyone.
1:33
Uh, we- we've really come a long way, uh, three years, in fact, uh, at this pace, and, uh, we've learned a lot.
1:40
I've taught you as much as I can about how to use your iPhone, how to do things, what's possible.
1:47
This one's a bit different.
1:49
This last lecture is how to live well with an iPhone.
1:54
I've been asked by a number of people to add a section like this into my book, and I, I have in the third edition, and it is now twice as big in the fourth edition.
24:53
What else, Mike? What's spinning your wheels about that one?
24:57
Well, those things in particular are like, I want the sleep score.
25:01
I want that 18-hour battery life.
25:04
And honestly, I'm probably going to turn that always-on display off if I can.
25:09
So that'll probably even extend it more.
25:13
You know, there's that.
25:15
And really, the sleep tracking, I used it a lot for, and just for just basic fitness.

you

It's not ready for primetime yet, but they hope to... have things mature over the coming year, a year on from Apple intelligence, how are people finding it in reality?
7:14
You know, I, it's, it's kind of, honestly, you could get the same.
7:18
I feel like if people just got the right apps and paid subscriptions to chat GPT and, you know, Google Gemini, you could probably accomplish anything.
7:29
pretty much everything that you could with Apple intelligence.
7:32
Now, the one caveat there is privacy, which is a biggie for a number of people.
7:37
I do like that thought of intelligence that is made just to serve you and not gobble your data for someone else's purposes.
7:46
So there's that.

52 MINS LATER

59:34
And how about you, Mike?
