So what brought you here or how did you get here? What was your path?

Yeah, me personally? Yeah.

I can talk about both.

So I was a journalist and I was covering, I was working in Clark County, Washington, so the northern suburbs of Portland, and covering county government.

And the two things that county government does most is it provides services of various sorts to poor people in the court systems, the prisons, the social services, etc., And it regulates development on the urban fringe.

And can I go back actually on the building codes? Can you dig down on that a little bit? How exactly do you make it cheaper to build a house in an environment where costs are rising? What feels like constantly everywhere?
