So in telling us your story, can you share a little bit about your son Drew and what happened?
5:30
Of course.
5:31
Um, Drew was an energetic, just full of life little four-and-a-half-year-old, and he was my oldest.
5:41
I-- at the time, I was a 29-year-old mother of two little boys, Drew four and a half, Devon three.
5:48
Um, married to, uh-My husband at the time, who was a den- is a dentist, and we had dental practices, uh, throughout the state of Arizona.
5:58
So on this particular morning, um, the morning of May 19th in the year 2000, Drew woke up every day before the sun.
6:06
And so we had a rule that he couldn't get out of bed until the sun was actually in the sky.

melissahull.com.My name is Melissa Hull, and I am the mother of three amazing children and the very honored stepmom of two boys.

My story with grief and bereavement began on the morning of May nineteenth, in the year two thousand when my son Drew woke up very early and was excited to start the day.
6:36
He greeted me with, "Mama, Mama, the sun is up in the sky," which was the rule.
6:42
We had a rule that he couldn't get out of bed until the sun was in the sky, because Drew was one of those children that just could not wait to get going.
6:50
He had so much exuberance for living.
6:53
So on this particular morning, it was about five forty-five, five thirty in the morning, and his younger brother, Devin, who had asthma as an infant and toddler, had been just very, very sick.
