If Uluru is the heart of this park, Kata Tjuta is its soul.
33:42
So kata means head and tjuta means many, so Kata Tjuta, Many Heads, and the heads are referring to the domes that make up Kata Tjuta.
33:52
So Kata Tjuta is a rock formation made of 36 domes of rock, and very different to Uluru.
33:59
Uluru is one solid rock.
34:01
Kata Tjuta is a conglomerate, so it's lots of small rocks glued together or cemented together by the same sediment that Uluru is made up of.
34:12
But they formed at the same time, and they were created out of the same erosion from those millions of years ago.
34:21
But culturally, Kata Tjuta is a men's area, so very sacred to Anangu men.
36:26
Indigenous-led walks that take you deep into the cultural story, twitching across a landscape that holds more than 170 species of birds, bike rides, Anangu bush walks and workshops, and at night, some of the darkest and most extraordinary skies in the world. But we're near the end of our trip now, and we've only got two days here, so I asked Megan how she would spend them.
