So we thought, "Okay, let's maybe have a little look at this then." Um, it's, it's kind of been looked at a little bit before and, and is, you know, um, has already been shown to kind of reduce that ground reaction force.

And again, like, we didn't wanna hang our hat on that.

We wanted to be like, "Let's look at actually if it also kind of reduces the loading at the pelvis." Um, and there's, like, suggestions over, you know, there's less of that vertical oscillation, like you say, because you're not propelling yourself into the air-

... for the pathway.

So I think another thing would be to, like, look a bit more into some of that loading pathway, with its kind of how the symptoms maybe relate to the variables.

but just adding a bit more kind of weight and a bit more fluff around it.

Um, and it was, like, such a good experience to do that, like, develop phase with the advisory group.

Um, they were all participants who'd participated in first, uh, e-survey phase of the study but, like, volunteered for future research.

Um, so we kind of, yeah, we had to pick like a subset.

Couldn't pick everybody unfortunately 'cause everyone was so keen to volunteer.

Right.

Councillor Megan James tells Brandon Long that the fee will help recover administration costs... and encourage producers to ensure cattle are tick-free before transport.

If you are found to have ticks evidenced in your cattle when you arrive at the Dolby regional sale yards we will be putting a $2,750 including GST per consignment fee.

So that will only be applied to consignments that turn up with the presence of ticks confirmed but it is there to help us manage the impacts of that and it It's about recovering the additional costs that we are sort of hit with when we are faced with ticks at the sale yards.

So if a producer turns up and has ticky cattle, it doesn't matter if they have one cow or 100 head, they'll be facing the $2,750 fee? Yes.

Yeah, we worked together with our chair and advisory committee at the Dalby Regional Sale Yard.

So we worked together with vendors and agents to come up with the best method to do this.

The agents association also had some conversations around it.

So we really felt that the $2,750 per month consignment worked better than a per head uh type of arrangement i guess it does help you know it is about administering the presence of ticks and what we have to do when that happens um but it's also i guess a bit of a deterrent then too so we're trying to encourage people to really think carefully about or you know reinforce that responsibility to to have vendors thinking carefully about checking their their animals before they send them to the arts
