Um, and I think we've got sort of a tug-of-war between Republican candidates wanting to receive credit just before the election for this, you know, huge project that's coming to the state.

Megan GoldbergGUEST
And at the same time, you know, I don't think that Trump is necessarily as a, as a figure in the party helpful to their, their campaigns right now, and so I think there's some interesting distancing going on there.

Megan GoldbergGUEST
Um, I think on the terms, in terms of Sand's answer, it's sort of what I would expect because you, we have seen Democratic legislators in Iowa, um, explain, um, their no votes at the special session, um, why they voted against this package.

Megan GoldbergGUEST
Um, but, but often, you know, this is sort of a hard stance to take because to most folks in the state, this looks like a really positive, um, development, right? That, um, there's a lot of business coming, that it's, um, you know, economic activity.

Megan GoldbergGUEST
And, you know, I think that there's lots of reasons to be cautious when you are creating incentives, um, for these large projects.

Megan GoldbergGUEST
But, you know, I think Sand sort of was trying to toe that line between not, you, you cannot be a candidate who rejects economic growth, um, but at the same time, you know, to, as the Democratic candidate, to not sort of like give over all of the credit for this, um, to, to the Republican Party in the state, um, or at the national level.
