I kind of felt like I knew everything about skincare and beauty and how that whole category works.

Megan BlackGUEST
And then I went to business school and it was when I was at Kellogg, I, you know, I've been getting burnt my entire life.

Megan BlackGUEST
Like I was the kid on the beach with like a hat, a shirt, like swimming in a shirt.

Megan BlackGUEST
And kind of as I got older, like I stopped swimming in a shirt and I started getting brutal sunburns.

So whether we are sitting on the bed, talking, listening to music together, touching, kissing, rubbing each other's feet, whatever it be.

Megan BlackGUEST
We just know that in that moment, and it gives us the freedom to stop if it's not like we did the other day.

Megan BlackGUEST
We stopped because I knew just because I was stopping what I was doing at that moment, it didn't mean that it ended everything.

They're like, "Megan is always sunburned." Um, so I mean, I've always been very aware of it.

Megan BlackGUEST
I, you know, one day was walking to class at Kellogg, and I, you know, had SPF on my face, like in my makeup and I think maybe something below that too, but I realize like my chest and shoulders are always getting burnt as well, and I was wearing like a tank top.

Megan BlackGUEST
And so I was getting burnt in those areas, and I could tell, and I was like, "I'm gonna see this later today." And I started thinking like, what could I use that would like be a good product to not get all over my clothes, not make me smell like a pina colada all day? Like Sun Bum for me was not the answer 'cause I didn't like smelling like that all day.

Megan BlackGUEST
Um, and I couldn't really think of anything, and then that kind of like got me starting to think about the SPF space, also because like I had this background in beauty and skincare.

Megan BlackGUEST
So I just felt like I was very aware of every brand in the space, but I was like, what is there if it's not, you know, one of these huge players? Um, I also didn't like that so many of them had so many chemicals in them, um, and I didn't wanna be wearing that daily 'cause I was like, that's not gonna make my skin look better for sure.

This is right," how did you approach that decision, and what conversations did you have before committing to building it together? Because obviously a co-founding relationship can either be absolutely amazing or absolutely terrible.
