We had a call scheduled for the next day and I was still debating if I'm going to ask for anything else.

When I jumped on that call, I decided to do it eventually.

And I was shaking and I still gave a number lower than what I know I should have given.

So what would you say really does get somebody noticed if they're looking to move into that senior leadership?

Yeah, so I think the problem starts around the senior manager, director level.

Because early in our career, showing up and doing the work is literally what is required for you to have a job.

So that is fantastic.

Kind of like school.

Do everything you're told.

You're going to get the great grades.

What is the first thing that you would say, hey, I want you to go do this to start making that more senior level a reality?

I, through my manager at Microsoft, landed a role at Google, which was basically the same one I did at Microsoft, which was, again, almost like a step back.

But I could not afford to be picky because I needed a salary to pay rent.

And I spent about a year there.

with Google doing something very similar to what I did at Microsoft.

However, being the ambitious person that I am and wanting to keep moving forward, I kept applying for roles.
