there's clearly two sides to the coin there, but it'd be good just for you to sort of maybe just touch a little bit on what that kind of sort of how that plays out, what it looks like day to day.

Yeah, so it's useful firstly to kind of give a bit of a breakdown of what domestic abuse actually is because it's very poorly understood by the general public.

So if I give you the definition of domestic abuse under the law that we have in the UK, so it's any incident or pattern of incidents... of violence abuse or conduct which controls coerces or threatens between persons aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or members of the same family regardless of gender or sexuality so it's what we call it kind of a wide encompassing definition so One of the biggest myths is that only happens between intimate partners.

So as I've just said, it covers family members.

So that could be adult child to elderly parent.

It could be obviously adults to children.

Often child abuse crosses over with domestic abuse, fairly commonly.
