So yeah, you know it it hit me right away i was like okay this is definitely like uh like 1980s transgressive ova which i'm very comfortable and used to in what in many ways because i also grew up on like manga and as i said and anime as well but like the grittier we'll call it the non-tourist um version of anime like violence jack um legend of the over fiend like very transgressive violent um and sometimes sexually explicit but not in like a hentai way but there's elements of it for sure that's not like an ecchi which is like more of a fan service or making like sexuality humorous no this is a lot this is different than that so i i'm a big fan of it i loved the ova i thought wow i was like max really hit like all the right notes with this and uh he you know chose a series that we i felt like i could um there's a lot of meat to flush out

well you know i only heard of it a few years ago and actually i found out about it from howling mutant uh he named it as one of his favorite anime uh on twitter and although i mean i'm not i wouldn't say i'm friends with mutant i mean we have friends of friends And, you know, we did a podcast together on James and Kane and Postman Always Rings Twice a few years ago on Tales from the Mall.
