Max, why is the MLC so important?

Well, the MLC is, I think, first of all, really a reason to celebrate because after 20 years, we can see that a multilateral body, a tripartite body, shaped something that is alive and working, and is working as was expected, or almost.

Um, so that was a promise that is fulfilled, and I think that is something to celebrate.

Uh, the, the real achievement, I think, is to bring, uh, labor standards into the center of, of maritime.

And as Carlos said already, that's very important for, uh, competition, but that's also especially com- important, of course, for the workers.

But having these workers' rights now at the center of the maritime legal framework is something we had not really seen before.

We had lots of, um, regulations, but they were not bundled, they were not very clear, and all, every flag state could adhere to them differently.

Max, can I turn to you and ask you as well? What, what are your thoughts on this?
