Well, before we, Steve and I are going to ask you about the makeup of the team, the specific players, before we get into that, just as the In terms of the team overall, what excites you about this team heading into the season? And what's your outlook for the team?
13:44
Well, one thing that we wanted to do, and I felt like we were able to accomplish this, is we took a hard look at what – so I'll take you back.
14:03
When we were at Kentucky – we didn't have advanced analytics like we do now.
14:08
And so a lot of it was filled and gut and, you know, your eyes told you and you had to do a lot of work on, you know, I'd watch them walk in the gym, I'd watch them walk out of the gym, how they interacted with the coach, how they went in and out of the game.
14:23
I mean, you were just trying to get all of this data about, you know, would they play hard? Would you play hard? And so what I feel like was so beneficial for us is now we were able to identify some of the analytics and some of these plus minus stats and efficiency stats and advanced analytics.
14:48
And we were able to get the pool of who we felt like could play winning basketball for Houston.
14:55
And then from there, we were able to now dig into your character and dig into your family and dig into, are you a good fit? And I'm telling you, it was with 1,500 people in the portal, I don't know how else we could have done it as efficiently, but we were really able to narrow our needs down and just really, you know, proud of the work we did there.

You know, who has stood out most so far early on?

30:58
Travel magnet playing half.
30:59
And so she's, uh, a bit more equipped, but still it's first time in America, and so there'll be some adjustment there.
31:06
But from a pure basketball standpoint, and from what I look for in a point guard, she's incredibly, incredibly skilled, great in a ball screen, reads the defense, great pace, handles herself well.
31:19
They don't...
31:19
They c- they can't speed her up.
31:22
And so I am hoping by January that, that Marta i- is gonna be a force to be reckoned with.
31:29
I, I feel like for us to be the team, you know, as I, as I think here today, September, in early September, I think Marta's gonna, gonna...

34:02
Well, you, you, you've answered the question a little bit for me, but I, I was gonna say, you know, with 10 new players coming into the program, w- who, who do you see as the, a- as, as the absolute leaders of the team, uh, heading into this season?

23:35
You know, who has stood out most so far early on?
23:41
Yeah, our six transfers all have elite skill at some part of the game.
23:49
Justice was the headliner.
23:51
She was one of the top players in the transfer portal, starter on a Final Four team.
23:57
Justice is talented, as good as advertised.
24:03
She was on a great team at Texas, felt like she wanted to expand her role, and she's going to have that opportunity here.
24:13
And I believe she can do it.

30:04
Who do you – I'm sorry, who do you – Of the freshmen, do you see any or maybe all or maybe one really stepping up and playing a significant role?
25:21
worldSo when we talk about ISO, what, what is that and how does that, along with the other standards, how does that build credibility?
25:31
So for, for the un-indoctrinated, um, you know, there are a lot of organizations around the world who issue standards of some kind, right? They call them sta- standards development organizations or SDOs.
25:41
I'm trying to [laughs] fortunately not limiting the acronym.
25:44
Um, and here in the US, we also have a lot of national standards bodies.
25:49
Internationally, it's the, it's really the ISO.
25:51
Uh, the ISO actually has a standard for bodies that issue certifications, so they have a, a standard for the standards organizations effectively, right? So we as a professional body who are developing and will be issuing professional level certifications, we have to, um, or we ought to rather, uh, comply with that standard.
26:12
It's ISO 17024, if your listeners wanna look it up.

17 MINS LATER

43:41
Before we transition into our conclusion here, is there anything else that, uh, you both would like our listeners to know about your respective organizations or your perspectives on SAR?
2:25
How did we get here, and what is driving this current state of play?
2:30
Sure, so the initial growth phase of private credit really followed the global financial crisis, where banks significantly curtailed their lending, leaving a gap for many mid-market borrowers.
2:41
Uh, and that's where private le- pr- private credit lenders really stepped in to, to fill that void.
2:45
So they stepped in via direct lending.
2:47
The market has since really experienced dramatic growth.
2:50
Uh, right now in the direct lending space, some participants estimate that it's at about $2 trillion.
2:56
So really mirroring that now of the broadly syndicated loan space.

11 MINS LATER

14:14
Diversification is a key pillar of risk management, and so we'd expect that rising concentration in non-diversified risks would further add to the pressure within the system.
10:47
Uh, talk to us about the theory behind it, big picture, just to ground us in it, and then I've got some, some questions.
10:54
Yeah.
10:54
So, you know, the, the basic idea here, it comes straight out of economics, which is that, you know, we know, we, we know that institutions matter.
11:01
We know that incentives matter.
11:03
Um, we know that in the, in the, uh, private sphere, there's a long and growing literature that suggests that when people are allowed to make their own economic choices, um, you know, they tend to exchange more, and eco- you, you tend to see greater prosperity.
11:21
And so the idea of this index is to sort of apply what we already know in, um, the private exchange market to the nonprofit world and the charity world and see if incentives matter there as well.
11:35
And so what we did was, um, you know, we first kind of started, let's just think big picture.

21 MINS LATER

33:05
Is, is the roundtable or are some other groups gonna take it and kinda take it to that next evolutionary step?
