What was the inspiration behind the work?

So I decided at the beginning of last year that it would be great if I could return to life drawing, which is something that I started as a 17 year old over 25 years ago.

A friend introduced me to life drawing at Walker Street above Lavender Bay and I've drawn there intermittently since the mid 90s.

And so this particular model I've drawn intermittently over the years and then I had a couple of sessions where towards the end of last year I was drawing her and I thought also the I got a really nice set of drawers to keep my drawings in and I thought at the end of the year I'll get an exhibition frame in the sense that I can take drawings in and out and if there's something that speaks to me I'll put it in the frame live with it with the idea of changing it over every year and this particular drawing was one out of a series that I put in the frame lived with enjoyed okay yeah and so I felt there was something Yeah, well you were right there was, wasn't there? Thanks.

When did you start painting and where and why drawing? It's hard for me to say when I started.

It's something that I always enjoyed.

I can remember being a school student in a science class and I was drawing everything and things in the science textbook were of interest to me.

And it just makes you curious about it.
