Tell us the story behind this discovery.

Oh, thanks for having me on.

Uh, yeah, this find was actually first discovered in 2019 by a group of just, a family, uh, a group of friends, and they found all these marine reptile bones.

It's in a free fossicking area just outside of Richmond, and all the fossils go to Kronosaurus Corner.

So this is where this is actually displayed at the moment.

And they come across a whole variety of bones, and they weren't quite sure initially what they were.

And it was an ichthyosaur.

Wow.

So when you realize I got to do something different, what was your process? What did you do? Were you worried? Were you afraid? Were you relieved? What was going on?

I think it's always worrisome, right? When you have a family and you have kids, especially, and other people are relying on your half of the income and stability that goes behind that, it is worrisome.

You know, do these... timelines of switching jobs make sense.

You know, what is your, your spouse or your partner? What is their career path looking like in that sense? I know when, when I was looking to make that switch, and this is part of why it, it took a little bit longer because every, you get to that point where you're like, I want to get out of here and I want to do it as quickly as possible.

But there were some new opportunities that my wife had.

So it's, Okay, you handle your side, then I'll handle my side.

So it kind of kicks the can down the road a little bit.

Do you think you can do that? Expectations and all that.

And again, I was in the Tour de France team and preparing really well.

Uh, had done all the races with the, with the group there to prepare for The Tour.

And, uh, my dad had actually hadn't been to Europe.

I'd obviously been to Europe for six, seven years by then.

It's the balance between, you know, building the right team, obviously pressure from above or pressure from sponsors or, is that, is that r- the reality of, tell me how a selection process really happens in a, in a holistic sort of ov- overview way.

Well, Jan was incredible, incredibly strong that year as well, wasn't he? He, uh, he was, led the Vuelta, was leading the Vuelta that year.

And, uh, left the Vuelta pretty much to prepare for the, for the Olympics.

Uh, and it worked.

He won the road race and he medaled also in the time trial as well, so I, I do remember that.

And I, I remember V- uh, Sydney waking up in the morning and it was teeming down with rain.

Just to keep that part alive, you know, of cycling, what, what we like, and I think that's important in, in both of us, you know, because-

... than there is core plus capital.

You know, it gets to business plan, it gets to the return profile of specific assets.

High net worth capital is great, meaning retail or syndicates of capital for new deals, but they're more often than not a limiter in terms of how big you can go.

And so, you know, we have clients come to us with a successful track record of acquiring deals in joint venture format with high net worth capital.

These are often term takers, meaning as a GP, you can generate outsized economics with these investors, but as you continue to buy bigger and bigger assets, you're gonna outgrow that stable of investors.

And so where do you go from there? You evolve into more institutional capital, and these are allocators.
