Now, 30 seconds might not sound like a lot for people, but in the context of this workout, it's huge.

And what I see in this training design is actually really, really good by Frazier is the reps.

Matt TorresGUEST
And what you mentioned at the end was the 30 seconds of rest in between the rounds of three.

Matt TorresGUEST
So it's important to note here, seven bar muscle-ups to a lot of people, especially a high-level games athlete, is really nothing at all.

Matt TorresGUEST
But we have to remember the idea behind this program design is he needs to be moving fast.

Matt TorresGUEST
right we have shuttle runs and then we have sandbag cleans it's only three reps 200 pounds heavy yes but it's only three reps all right so when we look at this and you're like man those are it's such short reps if we're looking just the first three rounds in the beginning yeah but he's also moving at like 90 to 95 intensity because the reps are short uh and he also knows he has a 30 second recovery Now, another big important piece here is his recovery bike, right? So we got three minutes before he starts the other three rounds, and that's just enough recovery for him to be back at like 90%, right? Now, same thought process as we look through the other three rounds of the wall-facing handstand push-up, shuttle runs, and overhead squat.

In your head, like, what's going on throughout that? 'Cause, like, you were visibly emotional, but I'm just curious, is it, like, joy, sadness, like a mix? Is it just waves, like, back and forth between the two?

Matt TorresGUEST
It, uh, competition, specifically the CrossFit Games, it's the most stressful time in my mind.

Matt TorresGUEST
Um, you know, I have, I have things that show up that have never showed up all year.

Or do you think that it's just, you know, just happens to be that the athletes that you've garnered or gathered together are just that good, and it's just, like, making you look good almost?
