go on let's start going into like what you need to look for

Matt StandridgeGUEST
Yeah, so when I speak at just study clubs for a couple hours, I just tell folks, if you truly, truly just focused on three things, crowding, deep bite, narrow smiles, if you focus on those three things, those are the best mechanics for aligners to work.

Matt StandridgeGUEST
Now, if they're crowded up to the point that, like, you know, you have completely blocked out teeth and, you know, all that stuff, if it's like the severest of severe of crowding, then, you know, let's take a pause.

Matt StandridgeGUEST
But most people, like people coming into your hygiene chair, they have mild to moderate crowding.

Matt StandridgeGUEST
So for me, you can treat spacing cases, but it's more, spacing cases get into more multifactorial.

So what are some of like the, I guess, non-functional reasons?

Matt StandridgeGUEST
And then also like, it's not just like aesthetics of the teeth themselves and widening the smile, but also we have good data that shows that when we take out teeth, especially if they're not real well planned on the staging or which teeth are taken out, you can really, when you're retracting things to close up those spaces that were closed, you can really kind of take someone who maybe already wasn't very full in the mid face and retract them even more.

Matt StandridgeGUEST
So then they kind of, and especially as we get older, we kind of get the sunken in appearance more as we age anyway.

Matt StandridgeGUEST
And so then you're like predisposing these folks to just have even heightened version of that, if that makes sense.

Matt StandridgeGUEST

Matt StandridgeGUEST

Matt StandridgeGUEST
