Is there anything for Halloween that you were really excited about?
0:08
Yeah, one a little bit early, actually, coming out next week called Resident Evil.
0:13
There's been a lot of Resident Evil movies, but this is the first one that's going to be directed by Zach Kreger, who, if you recognize that name, he's the guy who wrote and directed last year's big horror hit, Weapons.
0:26
Almost got Amy Madigan an Oscar, but... probably almost got nominated for some other Oscars along the way.
0:32
Maybe screenplay.
0:33
I bet that was in the conversation there.
0:35
So now he's coming back with kind of this new take on the Resident Evil video game.
LibbyHOST
2:15
Is that the future of films? Are we going to see a lot of movies just about video games? I
31:32
I left late and listened to the
31:33
end.
31:33
It wasn't pretty at times, but, you know, sometimes you've got to do that.
31:38
You know, like I told everybody.
31:39
I think those are the more impressive wins.
31:40
Well, it's just, you know, can you go out and take care of business week after week and You know, it's the nature of the business and the nature of the beast that, you know, even even Indiana had to go down to the wire against Penn State last year.
31:54
You know, so, yeah, sometimes, you know, you just got to gut it out.
32:46
them back
31:32
I left late and listened to the
31:33
end.
31:33

31:38

31:54
You know, so, yeah, sometimes, you know, you just got to gut it out.
32:46
them back
12:05
Right.
12:05
They also, like, swept the Dodgers last season, I believe too, and that didn't mean bupkis.
12:10
You know? [chuckles] They got to the playoffs and the Dodgers had their fully operational battle machine and absolutely massacred the Brewers.
12:17
And I think that's just in the head, in the back of all Brewers fans' head right now, where it's like, they look really good right now.
12:23
They looked really good last year too, and they looked like a double A Biloxi Shuckers team against the Dodgers in the NLCS.
12:32
Um, and hopefully this year they look better.
12:34
Hopefully they have a better approach.

22 MINS LATER

34:44
Right.
28:43
yeah absolutely so how do you uh are this early in the year kind of balance the yeah you're doing good but also let's uh calm down um this team has to make its own way you know the 16 in a row or whatever can be a little misleading this team's won
28:58
three in a row that's exactly right you know with all the turnover that we had and uh you know as i mentioned the last time i was on you know we're breaking in 10 new starters on offense and nine on defense and um you know these are very talented guys but you know there's not a lot of snaps there yet um and uh you know but every week we just focus on getting better that week you know that that's our big saying that we break every practice on is win the week and i know that sounds like coach speak but you know it's very true that you can't get caught up you know looking down the schedule you better worry about who you're playing thursday night No matter what their record is, no matter, you know, what they look like, you know, you better focus on that game because that's how you keep the streak going.
29:39
That's how you keep good football going.
29:42
You don't get to looking ahead and we've done that in the past.
29:45
You know, the last loss that we had, you know, was community going on two years ago.
29:48
And I think, you know, that, that bunch got a little full of themselves and kind of thought we'd arrived and you know, that community came in there and humbled us a little bit.
29:58
And yeah, You know, that made us have to go to a tiebreaker to even get to that first championship.
30:19
And it's not getting any better.

43:35
you know
43:37
sometimes you as even as a coach you don't really realize exactly how much you're replacing we're replacing 10 starters on offense and nine on defense and you know that's that's gonna show and it did show on thursday we we've got very talented kids we've got very talented players But there's not a lot of experience there.
43:58
And Grundy County was a very experienced team.
44:01
Most of the team that we saw on Thursday was the same one we saw a year ago.
44:07
They had a very big running back.
44:09
They had a new quarterback.
44:11
It's a very talented young man.

8 MINS LATER

52:17
So what is different going into year four? versus well it's the
29:16
That was Matt Mueller, former head of security operations at Coinbase, a major cryptocurrency exchange and a frequent DPRK target.
29:25
And so that was the first moment where I realized, oh, I work in something where, you know, a nation state actor actually has a degree of interest in the company that I'm protecting.
29:35
At the time, I would've described them as noisy.
29:40
They weren't particularly trying to hide what they were doing.
29:44
A lot of their attack techniques were pretty easily detectable, and so there's sort of this low-level noise happening in the background.
29:52
It's almost like a, there's a mosquito in your ear of, like, right, I know they're there.
29:57
I know they're really trying.

26 MINS LATER

56:17
Here's Matt Moeller again.
1:57
So disclosure day, Steven Spielberg, this is just what he does, right? He just makes alien movies.
2:04
Well, you know, it's actually interesting.
2:06
He hasn't done a sci-fi movie in a second.
2:09
I mean, if you include Ready Player One in that, I guess it's only been about six or seven years.
2:14
But Ready Player One is kind of its own weird brand thing.
2:18
Then, I mean, you kind of go further back.
2:20
Then it's Minority Report.
4:41
Is it just the marketing or is it the filmmaking that has made these two movies so good?
1:24
So disclosure day, Steven Spielberg, this is just what he does, right? He just makes alien movies.
1:32

1:45

1:47
Then it's Minority Report.
5:37
I want one a year.
1:24

1:47
Then it's Minority Report.
5:37
I want one a year.
23:49
I think that's a responsibility upon the studio and the cast.
23:52
Yeah, I think there's two things there.
23:54
First of all, like there was that era where any superhero, any IP could get intellectual property, could get decent box office.
24:03
There was, you know, Transformers movies, even though everyone was like the Transformers movies stink, were highest grossing movies of those years.
24:10
You know, Aquaman becomes a billion dollar movie.
24:14
uh one of the goofiest heroes we've got you know of the mainstream heroes and that makes a billion dollars and now audiences are a little bit more choosy and they want to see stuff that feels like events and to your second point i know a lot of people dragged you know barbie for how elaborate and how much their marketing campaign was like just going extra and like wicked how much wicked was everywhere Yeah, that's what you kind of have to do with some of these giant movies is just force awareness down people's throats in a lot of cases where it's like, listen, a year in advance, this is the day.
24:49
Get excited for this day.

5 MINS LATER

30:04
But I guess for me, it's like, why do we now all of a sudden care about the second week drop off? Is it just for notifications and clickbait?
48:50
I mean, this is
48:51
arguably this is arguably the cardinal sin of the Disney trilogy.
48:55
which is they decided to link it so hard into the Skywalker saga, instead of just doing a new story in the star Wars universe with new characters, because when you do bring in those, and I think that's what they eventually wanted to get around to doing, but they did it in very sloppy fashion.
49:16
And they ended up having a competing thing of the old characters versus the new characters.
49:21
And they never found out how to make that balance work.
49:25
And you end up with three movies that don't satisfy anyone as a coherent trilogy.
49:32
And now they have to kind of start anew.

15 MINS LATER

64:41
Put that on Disney Plus.
