I think what I always think about with the Blue Jay, you know, once I got more into birding, was how underappreciated we probably are of it in the east side.

Matt IgleskiGUEST
Because you go and you look at all those Jays they have out at west, they're just blue.

like maybe the website of the bird festival and also even just maybe like walk us through like what a day would be like, you know what I mean? Like kind of, if you're in Chicago, like what a bird walk might be like, we could talk about our songwriting thing, but yeah.

Matt IgleskiGUEST
So Chicago is actually a very amazing place for birds, especially migratory birds.

Matt IgleskiGUEST
You know, we see over 300 species every year, from resident birds to those billions of migratory birds passing through, and they're all stopping at different woodlands and parks, wetlands, the beaches, grasslands.

Matt IgleskiGUEST
Uh, you know, there's just a great variety of the habitat and, and birds coming through Chicago.

Matt IgleskiGUEST
So it's a really great place for birds, and all that is in thanks to, you know, the forest preserves of Cook County that, you know, manage over 70,000 acres of, of woodlands in and around the city.

Matt IgleskiGUEST
And then also the Park District manages over 100 natural areas, which is about 2,000 acres of habitat right in the city.
Ray BrownHOST
Well, uh, Matt, while we, we have another minute, uh, maybe you could give us a plug about the Chicago Bird Alliance and some of the work you're doing.
