Matt Hagen.

opening at number one with an estimated 24 million dollars a24's elizabeth holmes documentary you can see everything holds on to second place with 19 million dollars the animated film wildwood debuts in third earning nearly 12 million and street fighter takes a hit dropping to fourth after a steep 72 percent decline
Dave AnthonyHOST

that's roxanne evans
Sydney VolpeHOST
31:12
And that especially the first act, I was like, what is going on? Like the first act is edited so thin that it's like every scene is like a minute long and it's only there to like deliver everything.
Sydney VolpeHOST
31:25
plot point so that the story can go forward and I was getting a little worried I was like oh my god is the whole movie I was like he's already transforming like what's going on like is the whole movie just gonna be this like really quick progression from like scene to scene and then it does eventually like slow down because he goes through this first sort of transformation and then he like actually becomes Clayface and I think the movie gets better from there when he has this ability to like change into other people but i do think that there's some stuff that got must have gotten cut out of this because i don't know if you saw this but actually uh who's the guy who plays jesse in breaking bad aaron aaron paul aaron paul aaron paul He was supposed to play Matt Hagen's abusive father in flashbacks that they filmed, but they got cut out of the movie completely.
Sydney VolpeHOST
32:21
And I just feel like the movie overall... doesn't have a strong tonal identity, even though all of it is this very dark, it's doing the fly, it's doing all this other stuff.
Sydney VolpeHOST
32:38
But I also feel like I didn't get a good idea of who Matt Hagen actually is and why he's doing all the things that he's doing.
Sydney VolpeHOST
32:45
And I think that really... hurt the movie for me um so like i liked all of the body horror stuff i think there are a couple good scenes i really love the nightclub scene where like the big set piece where he's transforming into people and killing all the mob guys but there wasn't any sort of like emotional catharsis or like satisfying part of his arc to me because i feel like i didn't get why he was behaving the way that he was because i didn't really understand who he was as a person and so the whole thing just ended up falling kind of flat for me and you know i think If Mike Flanagan wrote this script, you can't really tell.
Joe AragonHOST
33:26
That's what I'll say.
Claira CurtisHOST
36:12
But I agree with Sydney in that I don't think it really, has like a strong identity as a whole as a film, which is kind of a bummer.
Claira CurtisHOST
36:21
I agree that.
Brett ArnoldHOST
36:52
the right
Jesse HassengerHOST
36:53
time for me but yeah and Feet of Clay maybe is Matt Hagen he is an actor he gets disfigured in an accident not because of his own stupid actions but then he goes for some reason the mafia has like a serum that will help him you know heal his face and it's gonna cost you though exactly he's gonna do some favors if you know what i mean yeah uh so he does he kind of gets sick he doesn't want to do that anymore uh when he tries to back out of it they like kind of overdose him on the serum so again it's kind of more of a tragic thing it's much less his fault in the in the series and then he becomes this big muddy looking clay face guy and then they didn't they didn't bring him back for one more episode called mudslide uh wherein he dies Not to spoil it.
Jesse HassengerHOST
37:40
It's kind of bleak.
Jesse HassengerHOST
37:41
Yeah.
Jesse HassengerHOST
38:38
So many times.
Jesse HassengerHOST
38:38
So it's kind of cool to see them backdoor their way into more fantastical Batman.
Jesse HassengerHOST
38:43
And this movie kind of follows the Feats of Clay thing, but the actor, Matt Hagen, in this case, sleeps with the wrong woman, pisses off the mafia.
Jesse HassengerHOST
38:54
They cut his face up.
Leroy DeeHOST
11:06
Yeah.
Leroy DeeHOST
11:06
Anyway, so that's when you got the second version of Clayface, which was Matt Hagen, because when they started having Batman in the 60s, all light hearts like that, you can't have a serial killer with a butcher knife, you know, in the comics.
Leroy DeeHOST
11:19
So they revamped Clayface into a goop glop monster that can just basically evil plastic man.
Leroy DeeHOST
11:25
know this is matt hagen
Eli FunaroHOST
11:27
yeah
Leroy DeeHOST
11:28
if you're matt hagen like i said he's just a goop glob monster batman and robin fought him he was not a serial killer he just did and they just got him and that was pretty much it so that's clay face too other clay faces between them we're gonna skip that we're gonna go to clay face in the 80s who they also revamp here and this is sandra fuller lady clay faced yeah like they were woke in the 80s Yeah.
Leroy DeeHOST
11:52
Those
Eli FunaroHOST
11:52
hips don't lie.
GriffeyHOST
34:37
well, that was the one thing too, where I was like, cause at the end they cleared the thing out and they're like, we checked all the footage and we checked all this stuff.
GriffeyHOST
34:44
And Matt Hart, Matt Hagen is not on there.
GriffeyHOST
34:45
It's like, he would have been popping up.
GriffeyHOST
34:47
He's a hundred percent in there.
GriffeyHOST
36:51
I think so, because that's when you see that the blade— The last kill is where he crosses the line.
GriffeyHOST
36:54
That's the worst kill, dude.
GriffeyHOST
36:55
That's where it's impossible to tell anymore if there's any Matt Hagen left.
GriffeyHOST
37:01
Right.
SethHOST
39:27
Look fear in the face.
SethHOST
39:28
Matt Hagen's meteoric rise from Gotham Street Kid to Hollywood leading man is tragically cut short when a local crime boss's actions leave him horribly disfigured.
SethHOST
39:37
Abandoned by his team with nothing left, Matt seeks out a cutting-edge treatment that miraculously returns him to his former self, but also unexpectedly affects his grip on reality, spiraling him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.
SethHOST
39:50
Such a long fucking synopsis.

George CarmiHOST
46:34
I do think most of this movie is just the most running down a checklist of things that they need to hit.
George CarmiHOST
46:41
And I do think every character around...
George CarmiHOST
46:47
What's his fucking name? Matt Hagen.
George CarmiHOST
46:50
Every character around him is just a lifeless pawn, essentially.
TylerHOST
14:07
It'd be cool if he was, but I think after the solo movie, that just means he's not going to be.
HarperHOST
14:11
I said this in my review, but this movie would be a great B-plot, villain plot to a really good Batman movie where Matt Hagen is accidentally or on purpose killing people, and then the other side is Batman investigating.
HarperHOST
14:23
I'm sure there's some way to
HunterHOST
14:25
do that.
HunterHOST
14:26
There's two episodes of the animated series I want to give you.
HarperHOST
14:29
Yeah exactly there you go yeah there's like two ways to do it where like you know the first couple we don't see who it is or something or like no I think don't even do the mystery just parallel story show Matt Hagen you know becoming Clayface and Batman tracking him down and then they come together in the finale.
TylerHOST
14:44
Or even then you'd have like Hush involved in the movie too just to give another villain because Clayface isn't enough for a full movie.
HarperHOST
14:50
Yeah yeah Clayface is like Deathstroke versus Bane or whatever.
Jared LeighHOST
7:18
A lot of them, a lot of villains were invented for the animated series.
RJHOST
7:22
And I just want to say, as a fan of the animated series, I think they did a really good job being very true to the character of Matt Hagen, you know, who is Clayface.
RJHOST
7:35
Oh, no,
Jared LeighHOST
7:35
he's been around since 1940.

RJHOST

But it was just very well written.
RJHOST
18:11
Acting all around was pretty damn good from everybody.
RJHOST
18:15
Who is the guy that played Matt Hagen? I've never seen this guy before, and if I have, I wouldn't know, and I feel bad for not knowing him since I'm just kind of praising the
Jared LeighHOST
18:25
movie.
Chris FranklinHOST
31:34
And as you guys listen to this, the Clayface movie is in theaters.
Chris FranklinHOST
31:39
So who would have thunk it, right? Of course, it's Matt Hagen, but still, it's Clayface.
Cindy FranklinHOST
31:45
I still want to go see that.
Cindy FranklinHOST
