Well, I have a geothermal system, which is the most efficient heating and cooling system you can get, but at a cost.

Air source heat pumps are much cheaper and they do a very good job.

But like I said, I wanted to kind of go as efficient as I could, so I was willing to spend that little extra money.

And one of the reasons I'm bringing this up is, looking at your house as a giant organism, it's the excess heat that is produced from the HVAC system, feeds into a de-super heater that dumps that heat into a holding tank, then feeds into my heat pump water heater.

So the heat pump water heater has to work far less because it's heating water that's already preheated.

It's like $250 worth of energy every year to heat my water.
