We, we're looking at player personnel," or w- where are your priorities to start?

Well, I, I think Keith and MLSE, uh, I think there's value to bringing experience that actually lived and have been there and, and, you know, we went to the conference finals a couple times in my era.

Uh, Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark was at the press conference.

They had some good runs, and earlier generations of Toronto Maple Leafs that have been in that dressing room, been in the locker room, seen what's been good when you have those runs, when you actually have a team in terms of the culture, what kind of people are in that room, but also things that have gone bad.

So I hope I'm gonna be able to support-You know, John and the management, but also coaches and players.

And I think with my experience, I have a good view on what needs, what, what need, what kind of character and what kind of vision needs to be in that locker room-

When did you decide you wa- you wanted to do this, that this was real?

Well, you know, I watched, obviously followed the Leafs since I retired, but especially the last six, seven years, followed the league, uh, done some work with the Swedish national team and also with, um, done TV in the Olympics, uh, during the Olympic tournament.

So, um, you know, just like many former players, hockey's the big passion.

And for me, this was the perfect time.

Our kid's a little bit older.

I've been away from hockey for a while.

Different perspective on the game, able to look at it with different eyes.

Well, I, I think, um ...

Like you said, uh, goal scorers and- and players are never better than your- your line mates, your... the- the people that pass you the puck, the playmakers, but the complete team.

And- and, you know, um, if you're looking to win a championship, whether it's Olympic gold or- or winning a Stanley Cup, you're never gonna get further than- than...

You need a complete team, from goaltending to defense to forwards to be able to get through because the competition is so hard.

When you think about Swedish hockey, the history of it in the NHL and- and where it's at now, what goes through your mind?

Can you take us back to that night and what you remember about breaking that record yourself?

Well, I think just I'm sure Austin is feeling the same way.

It's more of a relief, I think, when you're in the middle of your career, in the middle of an important season, and you're chasing points during the game for your hockey club.

You're not so much worried about your goals and points and assists, but you're actually looking at the standings, making sure that you're winning as much as you can.

In my case, it was very similar.

And I think just, I'm sure Austin has been going through it.

There's a lot of media coverage about when and where you're going to break a record.

Is there a teammate that stands out to you?
