How has the acrylic esters market evolved in August?
2:39
Thanks, Marion.
2:40
And very similar to what you've kind of already touched on there.
2:44
August has been very typically an August kind of month with the seasonal summer slowdown downstream, reductions in demand, plants shutting down for a couple of weeks, particularly in Southern Europe.
2:59
and people being out of office that's very much been felt throughout August and it's been a very sluggish month because of that certainly on the spot activity side you've also touched on the Rhine levels which certainly a few weeks ago was very much a kind of a big concern and the main talking point that has eased a little bit but remains a kind of a concern at the moment, and our barges still aren't being at full capacity yet because of the still low levels at the moment.
3:28
Aside from that, as I say, it has been a fairly sluggish month.
3:34
The main factor away from what's already been touched on has been for certainly butylacrylate and 2-EHA has been the imminent impact of the potential retroactive duties from the anti-dumping duty investigation that those those can be potentially retroactively applied and will be enforced now so imports are less than what they would have typically be at this time of year so there's an expectation that those markets will be slightly tighter And that has seen a very slight nudge up, especially at the low end of the spot prices for BA and to EHA.
