So Mary, tell our audience, what are you noticing that you're like, this is an emergency? Why are we like waiting until they're seven? I'll just sit and drink my coffee.
1:08
Yeah, but thank you for that lovely introduction.
1:11
And I love the idea of a gripe fest because we always try to be nice and positive about everything.
1:17
But you know that sometimes I think we, yeah, we really do need to alert parents and professionals also to the fact that this wait and see and everything will, some children take longer than others, we know that, but that doesn't mean we don't do anything about it.
1:37
There are two strands there, recognising that something might be a bit slower or taking developmentally a little bit longer, but then recognising rather than being complacent about it, what we need to be doing is saying, okay, what can we do? And even at a whole group level or just at any level that actually gives us informed observations of what children can do and what they can't do.
2:01
So in the book, I talked a lot about informed observations, training teachers and training parents to What is the child actually doing and what is it that is causing you concern? And in terms of griping, I was just thinking about when I run courses, there are some things that really, really bug me.
2:25
One thing is part of my course, I ask the participants, I say, when you come to the training, you have to wear a track suit or something because you're going to get down on the floor.

How simple is that?
