It's still important, but don't confuse it with product management.

And furthermore, in that feature team model, the team can't take responsibility for outcomes because they've been already been given the solution on the roadmap.

So in a product team, We don't have those stakeholders to give us this information.

We have a problem to solve and our cross-functional product team has to solve that problem in a way that solves for the customer and solves for the business.

And if you don't have somebody that understands the business, understands the stakeholder constraints, good luck because your engineers aren't going to know this and your designer's not going to know this.

How is that like directly affecting product? Like what are product managers doing with AI right now?

Well, so that sort of leads back to the first question.

So there are multiple ways of building products.

This is not news to anybody.

Multiple ways to build products.

In general, we would put them into sort of three buckets.

Not so much in the US, but in a lot of the world, especially Europe, they have this idea of an agile product owner and a bunch of developers.

What is the future shape of product teams?

Maybe talk about why you think that this is the best place to start and maybe how creators can improve their judgment rather than outsourcing their thinking to an LLM when they do that.

Yeah, and that's of course one of the big dangers with, with really any tool, is outsourcing the thinking.

Outsourcing a lot more than you realize, [chuckles] is the point.

Product sense, in truth, that's the table stakes.

That is the table stakes for both creators and for product leaders.

It's sort of ridiculous to talk about a product leader without that product sense, but in many cases, the product leaders do not have this, so you can't take it for granted.

But normally, of course, normally what's going on is you prove yourself as a creator, and you get promoted into a leader and where you're now enabling others to do that.
