Is that being tackled, the reduction in nitrogen? And can you farm and feed your crops effectively, uh, if you do reduce it?
M
16:31Martin HeaneyGUEST
Um, we can, we can reduce it, um, and that's what we all part of the Teagasc plan, and the education piece is a big part of that, um, getting farmers involved and getting them to buy into it.
M

Um, we also have a, an EIP program to protect, uh, water quality, which means fencing off streams, um, putting in buffer zones, uh, anything that can be done to improve water quality.

I think we can farm on, on lower nitrogen than we are at the minute, but not a lot lower.

Gerry KellyHOST
What about the whole area that we hear all the time, cattle and, and, and emissions of methane from cattle? What, what can be done there realistically with the herd, the national herd?
M

Personally, I don't think that's a solution, because I think we'd have the same thing as we did when we brought milk quotas in.
