I, you know, not
24:35
really.
24:36
I mean, you know, literally the transfer portal opened up while we were still playing, which is really an interesting timing of it.
24:43
Um, but nevertheless, we're, you know, we're playing and we're getting ready for super regionals and the portals open and, you know, you're trying to invest all your time in what's important now, which is trying to win a game and, and beat a Texas team.
24:56
That's just freaking ridiculously loaded and stacked.
25:00
Um, And so that's where we spent our investment then.
25:03
As soon as that didn't work out to our liking, you know, you got immediately, I went immediately on the road.
29:05
So, Coach, the... portal closes on june the 30th what's your first step in evaluating your team you said you had exit interviews so obviously that is the first step is like all right who's coming back um who do we want where and where do they fit in the overall scheme and then you go out and then you go you know i don't want to say it this way but it's the truth you go shopping you got to go okay who can we get and where do we need to fill so where does that process start with with your team your squad

Right
19:38
... we're, we're playing to win, you know? And, and, uh, um, y- you know, a- anything that I've learned in my coaching career is, you know, tomorrow's tomorrow.
19:47
Forget about it.
19:48
Like just worry about today.
19:49
And I guess the only time you start thinking about tomorrow is if you're just in a situation where you're just getting smashed and you just go, "All right, well, we're, we're not gonna win this one because we're losing by 10, 15 runs and it's late in the game and you're just not gonna come back today." Um, we, luckily we haven't had that issue [laughs] you know? And when you're in that spot, that's a miserable, ter- terrible feeling.
20:10
Um, but no, we weren't thinking so much.
20:13
You know, I did in ad- advance of that, you know, we had discussed if we did have to go to that if necessary game, like, uh, I think six teams are in the if, if necessary game today, actually still trying to figure out who's gonna win the regional and six other regionals out there.

Coach, what have you seen out of this team in the last four games that's different or, or is it different than in any other point in the season?
29:27
I think the only thing that's really too different about it is the fact that these guys, um, because they've played two really good opponents the last two weekends, they, they know they can beat anybody, and I think that would be the only difference.
29:40
I, um, uh, we'd played some good teams earlier on, but yet, um-Nobody quite as good probably as, uh, UCLA, USC.
29:52
I would, I would think that Nebraska would've been up there as one of the best teams we played for sure this year, and they were really physical, and they were really good.
30:00
But, but yet it just...
30:01
It wasn't a deal where we had played maybe somebody in the top five or something like that where our guys could go, "Hey man, we can beat anybody." And then beating UCLA at UCLA, that was a big deal, and really our guys were pissed after that trip.
30:13
They felt like they should've won two games, and we should've.

How much more difficult is it for pitchers both physically and mentally to cover those late innings?
