Hilary SeabrookHOST
So can you tell my listeners how Brasiliana came about, the album? Because it's a very interesting project.

Mark TonelliGUEST
Yeah, it is an interesting project and one that I never really thought would happen.

Mark TonelliGUEST
It came about because I've had this budding interest in Brazil most of my life.

Mark TonelliGUEST
My mom had some Jobim records, and I just kind of studied the album cover and thought he looked kind of mysterious and interesting, and Jobim didn't sound like a name that was familiar.

Mark TonelliGUEST
And then as I got older and started studying music and guitar specifically, which is my instrument, I had a guitar teacher that got me into jazz.
