What are the three areas and or topics you're most excited to work on in your new position? And maybe you can also, maybe both of you, explain your position, talk a little bit more about it.

sure yeah so the strategic operations division uh it's got pretty broad uh portfolio within there um and that was what kind of makes it really exciting to me is that i can be one day thinking about this topic and then later on in the afternoon have a different topic totally separate and so that's that's really exciting but kind of the vision strategic operations is like that forward-looking being able to be proactive planning for the bureau versus the reactive stance that we have because the better that we can plan you know three five years out it creates capacity for us to you know develop programs the way that we want to develop the program and to find out where the opportunities are.

If we see an opportunity at City Hall for a project that maybe the Fire Bureau that could be a key player in, then we want to be able to put our name on that and put that out there.

So that's exciting.

We're going to be working a lot with... just our human capital right so we got health and wellness and you know safety and that kind of thing that we really want that to be an active part of the bureau and I'm really excited about that there's so many people that are going to be in that division that are really talented some of the Top three things that I'm really looking forward to is we've been going to strategic strategic planning classes, learning about that whole process.

It's been really, really interesting.

A lot of hard work, a lot of hard reading, but I'm excited to maybe get that.

Does the proposed new division led by Chief Tilden create any new funding streams specific to the Fire Bureau?
