What are some of the things that you think TAS Whiskey Week is going to showcase this year that kind of celebrate how TAS Whiskey is continuing to develop and emerge? Sure.

Well, we're absolutely right.

And some of those continuation developments are potentially economic reasons.

Like you mentioned casks and cask size and cut down casks.

And I know that one of the reasons that Tasmania distilleries have moved to larger format is not just because they were getting to the point where they had larger stills and were distilling enough new make to put in a larger cask.

had been around long enough to have the capital funding behind them or had been producing a gin or some other spirit to supplement their income.

But also, it got to the point here in Australia, and I'm sure it's similar elsewhere in the world, where the cost to take a native format cask of, say, 200 litres, 225 litres if it was wine, and cut it down, get it cooped to those 20, 30, 40 litre sizes was just prohibitive to the point where casks were getting at 20 litres were more expensive than if you just got an American standard barrel ex-bourbon 200 litres.

What do you think is part of the culture that makes it so special and unique?

So how about you give us the rundown on that?

Sure.

We try and mix it up a little bit every year.

I've been involved now in the organization for the past four years.

But some of the, some of the changes this year is it, is it has been extended, so we're actually going from the weekend beforehand through to, to the week end of the whiskey showcase.

So that's from the 1st of August through to the 9th of August.
