And what makes you say, wow, I want to be a partner in a brewery?
9:44
Well, you know, it's great.
9:46
So I wanted to start a business in the city.
9:48
I didn't know what it was.
9:49
So when I moved back, you know, obviously I had the passion for home brewing beer and beer in general.
9:55
And I walked into Atwater.
9:56
So I ironically moved back in 1997.

39:34
So how did you get involved in Lansing Brewing Company?
16:53
So, um, what did you learn from that process? You know, when you have someone like, um, AB and Bev, and then that fall through and, and Molson cores and going through, because it's a, you know, there's a lot of business owners who have that, you know, succession planning question of, do they keep it in house? Do they stay within the family or do they look to a third party? Um, and what did you learn from that?
17:15
Yeah, because there was a lot of PE that was involved too, right? So the biggest thing was do I want to jump PE and go right to strategic? What's a better move? And at the time, I always thought when I bought it, I'd love to sell to one of the big three.
17:31
So I kind of had that in my mindset.
17:33
It wasn't like I'm going to buy this business and I'm going to keep it in the family for generations.
17:38
If that happened, great.
17:39
But always in the back of my mind, if an opportunity came up, I got to look at it.
17:44
And so the PE side of things was they really didn't know what, how to, um, how to look at a deal at that point because craft beer was so new.

So what when you talk to young entrepreneurs, especially in today's AI driven age, what's what what do you tell them that they should be thinking about as they look to start their own businesses?
