Good morning, everyone.

It is good to see everybody this morning.

And I noticed this is a college young people track and I'm glad that you are here for this.

One of the most important questions and thoughts that we can have, I think, of the week is why God's boundaries bless and not burden.

Our attitude has so much to do with everything that we do and especially in following the Lord, our attitude needs to be what it ought to be.

I want to start with something that you already know, but just a reminder.

Some of the worst advice that could ever be given to anyone by anyone is just follow your heart.

Well,

you guys are well-trained.

Someone gets up and everything gets quiet.

That's good.

I wish you'd be back in my home congregation because that doesn't happen when I get up there.

I trust you're probably already in the book of Nahum, and that's good because that's where we're going to be for our entire time.

We'll make some allusions to some other passages, but we'll be staying here in the book of Nahum.

One of the most popular passages in the book of Jeremiah is Jeremiah chapter 20.

Where he talks about, he says, I will not make mention of him nor speak any more in his name.

That's rather direct.

That's rather straightforward.

And as we know, this is a pivotal chapter in the book of Jeremiah.

Because here we see the raw feelings of a preacher.

[laughs]

A little bit of thought beforehand would be, would be good.

And so you're either leading little hearts now...

Uh, by the way, I'm leading little hearts again.

We had our first grandson last year.

Uh, it's a different kind of leading, but it's, it's awesome just the same.

But, uh, you're either leading little hearts now or going to.

[laughs]

but I more often than not got something better, something I didn't even know to ask for.

And that was a very early lesson on, you know, uh, what is it Garth Brooks? Like, "Thank God for unanswered prayers." I was fortunate, and a lot of Army experiences come down to this, on who you, who you're assigned to.

Um, and I got very lucky.

My first duty assignment was in Korea.

I was a med platoon leader up with the 2nd Infantry Division in Camp Casey, Korea, just, uh, right by the DMZ.

Absolutely

Hmm.

And so I said, "Wait a minute, what, what, what happened this year?" And I started trying to think back like, well, uh, I was like, "Huh." And I, I had a blank, and I started like, "Oh, like I lost this year." So instead of being able to open up this journal and look back and have it be filled with all these wonderful memories and achievements and the goals that I had set myf- for myself, instead it was just a time period loss.

And, you know, I knew that I hadn't, that I had not just done anything.

Like, I wasn't like Rip Van Winkle and, like, missed a year.

Like, life had gone on and I, there were a couple things, and my bank account told me that there was activity, but it didn't resonate.

It didn't have a meaning.

And so when we talked earlier about what's the most expensive thing, uh, your most expensive mistake, right, it's this.

How, how does that help you decide what deserves excellence and what doesn't?

You know, so when that shift happened for you, like was it like the first paying customer? Was it the first invoice, the the website launch? You know, when you realize, OK, this is actually a real business.

Sure.

There were two big events, two big moments that really made me.

think I might shift what I'm doing from opera and universities and teaching to doing this full-time, which is what I do now.

Because again, along the entire road, while I was doing opera directing, I was working with businesses.

It just never stopped.

It was just always part of what I was doing.

That's parish councillor Peter Mouncey, and resident Mark Rannells shared a similar observation.

The meeting was asked by six or seven different councillors, repeated questions about traffic, none of which were answered.

Indeed, the lady, Eleanor Godber... during the meeting said, can I have a few minutes to try and find some answers? So the chair said, of course, and she troubled some papers, and then came back about eight minutes later saying she couldn't find any answers.

So at that point, the chair had an opportunity to say, because highways haven't attended, answered, provided data, done any work themselves, and relied totally on the research from the development applicant, We should defer this decision until these eminent questions from the councillors have been answered.

None.

Rubber statum.

He reckons the problem is two wheels rather than four.

And the issue down that section of road and the causeway is motorboats.
