We almost got carried away and had this conversation before I pressed the record button.
15:22
I feel really special for an ISCC audit.
15:26
So that's the canola audit.
15:28
So for us delivering canola and malting barley on the Eyre Peninsula, we have very few options other than to deliver it into the system as a sustainable crop, which basically meets the requirements of going to the EU.
15:46
And so there's a whole heap of requirements that we need to abide by to be able to enter that market.
15:54
We don't have any choice over here on the peninsula.
15:56
Occasionally we do, but certainly this year I know we don't.

5 MINS LATER

21:14
So, Mark, on a more positive note, what are you most excited or interested about this year?
9:30
He's welcomed the APVMA's decision to keep Paraquat in the farmer toolbox, but he's worried the new rate reduction will be like using antibiotics at half rates.
9:43
My concern is the rate reduction.
9:46
They've told us 231 grams active.
9:49
And my quick maths says that's 924 mils per hectare.
9:54
And that works on small weeds and is useful for crop topping.
9:58
But when you've got robust weeds, that will be probably half the rate that I would need to kill them.
10:05
And so it's a little bit like using antibiotics at half rates or short of the full strip length.

Could this actually have the opposite effect of what you're trying to do, actually make resistance quite a bit worse?
