Have we gotten to the point with this Jaguar offense, Trevor Lawrence's growth, that as long as they've got Trevor and Parker Washington, Brent Strange, Jacoby Myers, Brian Thomas Jr., they are pretty much going to move the ball on anybody they see every Sunday?

That's what it feels like, right? 32.9 points a game they're averaging over their win streak.

They've scored at least 23 points in 12 straight games, which I think is the longest.

That includes last year's playoff loss, and that's the longest of anybody, more than double anybody in the league.

So you're looking at it like that.

You're going, listen, they've figured something out.

That's the only way.

What about this Gators defense? Do you think there's concern, or do you think they make a statement Saturday night?

Mark, what are your expectations for what we'll see out of the Gators tomorrow night?

Yeah, it's funny.

John Summerall was talking about, you know, his expectations just being 1-0.

Just want to go 1-0, and if we go 1-0 every week, that's going to be fine.

That is pipe dream.

Like, I think it's great that that's what you say, but the reality is totally different.

Maybe that's perception, but reality is style points matter, how you win matters, the final score matters, what everything looks like matters.

How do you think the offensive line, will they do any experimentations? Do Summerall and Faulkner feel pretty good about the starting five?

What are you hearing? What's sort of the early vibes of Summerall's first fall camp?

Yeah, he's not going easy on them, right? That's what, to me, is what stands out is he is pushing them to the brink, really, really, really trying to see who's got what and who steps up in crunch time.

He's putting them in these competitive situations, ones versus ones, two versus twos every single day.

Not a lot of people do that in camp, go good on good for extended periods of time.

He's doing that.

They've got a scrimmage tomorrow in the swamp, closed scrimmage.

They are keeping this very close to the vest, which we've discussed on here a few times, that they want to have a little bit of an element of surprise going into the season, especially week three.

What's anything new with the swamp renovation?

There's like, oh, what's going on with Trevor? Is he going to be a bust of a first overall pick? What was the secret sauce that Liam Cohen found with Trevor Lawrence, and can that be even better in year two with these two in the same room together?

Yeah, really, it was Liam Cohen probably more than anything.

He's a very good play caller.

He gets a lot out of his guys.

He keeps them on edge.

He's been very motivated.

And really, I think it probably speaks as much to the dysfunction that was in the building before Liam Cohen walked in as it does what Liam Cohen did.

What are you seeing from Travis Hunter's development? Is he still going to be a guy you see in the defensive backfield and then four plays later line up at receiver?

camp.

And they were going to, the plan was to move you to the left tackle, get him some reps.

And what happened was he goes out and he starts a drill at right tackle and tweaks his ankle.

And like, I think he missed the rest of camp, or at least they were very cautious with him for the rest of camp.

Ryan, you'll, you'll correct me from wrong there, but they never ended up moving him.

They just stuck with Walker little on the left side and kept hands on at the right where he had worked and was comfortable.

Well, Again, so you know that's in their head, that they really wanted to see what this guy had at left tackle.

One of the big storylines is that there's just no drama here with the Jaguars this year.

Yeah, when you look around the league and you look at what's going on in Tampa Bay with the Bucs, the Bengals, You know, may have lost, I mean, who knows how long Jamar Stewart's going to be out, but they lose a promising young guy.

They get a major fight involving Jamar Chase.

The Panthers have already lost two guys.

The 49ers, their injury list is very distinguished.

Falcons got hold-ins, right? Lions got hold-ins.

The Cardinals had all the quarterback drama.

You look at this Gator running back spot, who's going to be a guy that's going to compliment him? I want him to be the bell cow, the workhorse, but who else are they going to need to step up?

I mean, I don't wanna simplify it, but how much of that is just a head coach knowing what he's doing?

That's...

It's everything.

It is a head coach who's really good at calling plays, really good at getting the best out of Trevor Lawrence.

Uh, he's a really good X and O's guy.

But he's also a really good head coach.

And it's, you know, it's also, they've got...

Is that still kind of the theme and the thought process behind how the Jaguars will handle him?

Do you view John Sumrall as an elite defensive mind or is he more suited to be a head coach CEO who delegates and hires great people?

That's exactly what I think he is.

I think he is the big picture guy.

who can get his hands dirty with special teams, get his hands dirty on offense, and get his hands dirty on defense.

And that is the one thing that I noticed about spring.

And, again, he opened up a lot of spring practice.

We saw more spring practice this year than we saw in the five years of Billy Napier combined or four years, whatever it was.

Just on the whole, what are your expectations for this unit as we get ready to start training camp and going into the season?

What is the confidence internally with Sumrall and Caldwell that they'll be able to retain a large majority of these commitments and get them to sign in December?

Just give us your assessment of sort of what you've seen, and does this team look any different than teams that you've covered in the past?

It just looks different, right? They look like they've got depth.
