It used to be fun and
11:45
funny and novel and cute.
11:47
And because it's happened so frequently, I'd say over the last five or six years or so, it's kind of lost its novelty.
11:54
I agree.
11:54
It was fun.
11:54
It's like, oh, look at this guy.
11:56
It's like when Anthony Rizzo would pitch.

17:43
in a big hurry to bring us
3:06
couldn't get any Neil Fiorito-like time.
3:09
Yeah, usually it's Joe Bartosz.
3:11
Love Joe Bartosz, but sometimes he stops my progress.
3:14
When I'm coming in here, off the elevators, everything had to be perfect today.
3:19
So I am happy to have landed here in the studio with you guys here.
3:24
And yes, there was unfortunately some news that people are not going to like today.
3:30
It was the first full padded practice of the season today, and there was an injury of consequence, and that is to the Bears' highly paid, highly prized free agent safety, Kobe Bryant, expected to be sidelined.

7 MINS LATER

10:39
tissue issue? Yeah,
1:43
What's up, Groats?
1:45
It's mandatory time, Lawrence and Russ.
1:49
Good to be on with both of you guys.
1:52
Yeah, and we're getting to the no more messing around part of the season here because, yes, everybody is required to be here.
2:00
And as far as I can tell, all the people that were supposed to be here are are here today not everybody participating which we will get to but yeah the the three-day um mandatory mini camp and then it's that one little stretch of the nfl calendar where nothing is really going on for anybody up until they start training camp in late july so this is a key three days to to to accentuate to punctuate to finish off the off-season program and it was hot hot i would call it swampy out here and the bears did have a full practice everybody was hydrated and all that kind of good stuff i will start guys with some some notes from the day some news from the day some things that i saw before we get to some of your audio i'll let you guys react to some of the things i'm going to say here but let me just go through some of the stuff that is pertinent in my notebook right now including some guys that were banged up today demarco jackson tyreek stevenson and terrell smith They were all hurt at times during this practice.
3:05
I do not know the extent to which any might be hurt.
3:09
It seemed like DeMarco Jackson was down the longest.
7:57
his development under ben johnson when you think about where he was at the beginning of last year and russ and i were talking about it gross i would say probably game six is where it feels like the light kind of went on for colston loveland inside of this offense i would love to know what you thought about his development in year one and where you think he can go when he's talking about year two
6:41
Do you see the same way these tight ends are going that way?
6:44
Oh, yeah.
6:45
You know, 100%.
6:45
And, you know, I was talking about it on our score draft show that I kind of compare the tight end position to the running back position these days.
6:54
While most teams and scouts still don't consider them to be premium elite positions in the league, it's really cool.
7:03
when you have a good one.
7:04
We saw it.
