So the question, how has Vail managed that tension and what lessons can other cities learn from Vail?

That is ever-present, certainly in resort communities or even in cities where gentrification is happening.

It is so difficult because...

Certainly in a place like Vail, if our guests no longer want to come here and no longer feel satisfied and they stop coming here, we all have to leave because that's our main industry.

That's what supports all of us, all 5,000 of us who live here.

And Vale is very cognizant of that fact.

But at the same time, development and change does not mean you have to compromise on your values.

Now, beyond the headlines, what transformation do you believe will have the greatest long-term impact on consumers?

The locals, I don't know.

You know, that's where I've been different from probably most people talking about education policy.

You know, I served a school board member.

I've been a coach for kids.

I've done time in the classroom.

I was a single dad for a while because both my daughters, four and two, lost their mother around that time.

And I was lucky to be on a ranch where I could take the time to be able to get in the classroom.

Do you want to reflect on this final stretch of our primary election season?

Can I ask you to help set the context for that? Not everyone understands the way things work in Wyoming and not just the history, but what's the meaning of that today?

Yeah, well, the guarantee of equal education is in our Constitution.

Wyoming's Constitution is a remarkable document in many ways.

We're the first to recognize suffrage for women.

We're the first to build water law.

And I don't think we're the first, but we're certainly highly committed to making sure that every child in Wyoming It has a quality education and it's guaranteed in the Constitution.

And that's morphed from a time when the state didn't have a lot of money.

And does that mean they were doing it from a practical perspective, like they really wanted to participate in the discussion of it? They weren't just coming to shout slogans or make demands?

What is it about the Vale market that's so exciting and so intriguing and so magical? I know it is a magical place, but what is it, do you think? What's underpinning it all?

You know, it's just the perfect storm of perfection.

It is such an amazing place.

I wound up here by accident.

because my wife and I were getting tired where we were.

A couple of exit strategies on my company weren't working out.

And Vail Resorts offered me an $11 an hour job to come work for the security department for the mountain.

Anything else that's on the horizon for you over the next six to 12 months that you're working on?

What specifically has the administration delivered for Wyoming, and, and where do you still want action?

Well, I think, um, we're very excited about this administration, because we are not constraining what we can, uh, produce.

So we have, uh, Wyoming's a powerhouse.

We have, uh, tremendous amounts of fossil fuel.

We're- we've led the nation on carbon capture and other things that can con- make sure that we can both address climate issues and produce more energy, energy that's available and can be produced, uh, easily.

Uh, we have tremendous resources of wind and, and solar, and then we've also built up our nuclear industry.

TerraPower and BWXT are both, uh, doing work in, in Wyoming now.

So how do you balance environmental stewardship with economic competitiveness?
