What was it that first made you question eating

animals? I think I was sort of born that way.

So I had a predisposition towards... sort of being caring towards animals or or or or at least not um not wanting to see them in pain you know um and and there's nothing extraordinary about that i think i think a hell of a lot of people are born i would say most people are born like that some aren't obviously um what sort of set the sort of the thinking the cognitive thinking going i think was when i was reading um a particular comic when i was growing up called 2000 a.d which is still in prince it's uh it's a british comic um and most of its stories were sort of sci-fi uh battle type stories or sci-fi explorer types and themes and most of the protagonists in these stories were non-human animals and some were just made up aliens but they were not human yet they still had ambition and plans and goals and acted as though they were human or as as good as humans in terms so that they were talking and making plans and and this was good ones bad ones and and the humans in these stories were generally being represented um as the sort of baddies essentially um so i'm thinking of uh nemesis the warlock and strontium dog for for any listeners out there that are familiar with some of the main characters in this comic book um It was those guys, it was Nemesis, it was Strontium Dog, it was stuff like that.

And it sort of introduced the notion that non-human animals were their own thing and they were there for their own reasons and they weren't put on Earth for us to use, as was the sort of typical Catholic thinking that I was immersed in.

from the time I was baptized right so obviously I was brought up in Ireland very Catholic then it's changed an awful lot since but there was nothing coming from outside really other than these comics that was anything other than human supremacist really.

I mean Catholics have a huge moral sort of...

they have this sense of the world where they are the only beings worth really considering because humans are the only beings with souls and this seems to be enough to to make a huge difference in terms of the way Catholic humans view non-humans.

was still such a new sort of,

Um, I guess you wanna maybe talk through that first one?

When I grow up- I wanna work for a woke company Like, super woke.

When I grow up- When I grow up, I wanna be hired based on what I look like Rather than my skills.

I wanna be judged By my political beliefs.

I wanna get promoted Based on my chromosomes.

When I grow up- I want to be offended By my coworkers And walk around the office On eggshells And have my words policed By HR.

Words like Grandfather Peanut gallery Long time no see No can do.

Yeah.

Right.

Um, but then you fast-forward into, uh, COVID times, and he's, uh, signing up for all kinds of free money.

He's shutting everybody down.

He's shutting businesses down.

He's shutting commercials dow- or, um, churches down.

And, um, and then taking money, uh, and then creating a bunch of, uh, agencies and services, and now we have a government that's 70% bigger, uh, than when he started just seven years ago.

I mean, that's a massive increase of the size of government.

Does E-Verify fix that? How do you fix that problem if you, if you should take office?

Uh, how as governor are you gonna make North Idaho feel like we're part of Idaho?

By showing up more often.

I was up there, I've been up several times in my campaign and met a lot of people and shaken a lot of hands.

There's definitely different, uh, concerns and issues, uh, with things in the different regions of Idaho, and so I intend to get fully familiar myself by being physically present often at different places and being involved.

And again, having those meetings where we invite the people to show up and, uh, and ask me questions in a public setting.

And what I wanna do there is I wanna set up a situation that's so transparent that it, it means that temptation won't be there.

So the Our Father, we say, "W- lead us not into temptation." I don't want any temptation, so the, the level of transparency is gonna be so transparent that somebody that would think of coming to lobby or bribe or whatever they're gonna think of doing to the governor's office, they would know you don't do that at Governor Fitzpatrick's office.

What do you need to finish strong, man?

Were you surprised at the attention you got from all of this?

Well, the thing is, you live in a world that's full of deception and evil around every turn, and it's just pervasive in the media and everything.

And when you speak out truth and stand for righteousness, and, you know, for me, I want to glorify Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the King of Kings.

When you speak out in truth, because he's the way, the truth, and the life, people will get so angry.

And he said it would be that way.

You follow me, the world's going to hate you.

Well, let me tell you, the world really hated what I did this week, because the truth of the matter is that on this issue, you cannot have a strong country if you don't have a strong border and strong immigration laws and rules and enforcement.

So did this have anything to do with your background in law enforcement? Did you get into law enforcement because of your love for this country and the rule of law and, of course, Christianity? Mark, I'll let you respond for the last word here.

And if you go into chatrooms and, and whatnot, they are, you know, planning things and doing things to really target and disrupt my business, uh, or anything I'm involved with.

Um, people are looking up all kinds of things.

So childish.
